  1. go speed racer, go speed racer :p

Helmets are mandatory. i don`t know of any organisations who allow riders to enter without one. get yaself into one of ya major sports stores- Victory, Alpen, Xebio... and check out whats on offer. its basically just MotoX gear, yano, dirt bikes an that..

as a minimum, i recommend knee pads and padded shorts esp. somthin with some protection around the hip area.doubt you can rent the gear, "No way Jose" is it free for participants.

my first cuppla races were on a b**ton FL 61- light and fast. My more recent races were on a domestic board which is super fast. materials used were second to none (apparently??). it was designed by the owner of my local board store. he sent the specs to a maker in Akita(?) and they made it according to his specs. company name is Evolution i think confused.gif they are perhaps the closest thing to custom boards ya can get. because he chose the best materials, and only had a limited number made, production costs, read: ticket price was expensive. its 161cms. and ya might wanna angle your bindings a little more forward than what ya normally ride.

    hope that helps \:\)

  2. Just make sure ya get one with "four deep fryers. One for each part of the chicken."

that trailer thingy like subzero mentioned sounds tha gee ohh. thats something ya never see in japan- a trailer! in oz most households have a trailer for `cartin rubbish up tha tip`. 2am? good spot N, good spot ;\)

p.s. forum police, hope this post isn`t ad hominem

a country has to HAVE a culture before anyone can be "culturally insensitive" confused.gif

 with such thoughtful, informative and intersting comments like that, its easy to see how one racks up 8,539 (and counting) posts.
;\) keep `em comin. GOLD, every single one of them, gold
  5. that`s a good artilce 2 pints,,,mate ;\)

i can so relate to it. i quit (read: haven`t had a dart since dec. 14) and although i`d never say never to one again, i have no inclination to have another one whatsoever!

i just decided on that night (after we`d played our last (3rd) gig for dec. i wasn`t a pack a day smoker, and i never even smoked everyday, just when i was having a beer. i hated the way i felt the next morning and the smell of my clothes. i still have a drink, but i`ve made a decision to either smoke, OR drink, but not both! drinking wins hands down clap.gif i have nothin against peeps who do smoke either. if anything, i kinda feel sorry for `em bcos most wanna quit but just can`t. it has so much to do with `will power`. (Pammy was right in `Meet the Parents` when she said, "Daddy sees smoking as a sign of weakness."

i reckon it affected my surfing too and i didn`t like that.

i only started smoking when i came to japan (about 4 years ago) so hopefully i haven`t done too much damage.

It is the first potential 'gimmick' thing I can remember buying. I am usually pretty dull and functional. I was going for a Never Summer but they simply didn't answer my emails, so they missed a sale.

But now everything is jet black! Pants, jacket, gloves, helmet, boots, bindings, goggle frame, board... I am going to look like a complete frigging wanker. At least my backpack is a bit blue and grey. (I am not being serious with this image jibe)
great choice choice my friend, great choice!! I think I`m gonna be jealous. but it`s a righteous jealous so it`s okay ;\)
btw, you`ll now havta change yar handle to J.C. (tha man in black kind)
  7. db... I wouldn`t go over 160 if i were you. we`re about tha same shape and size (except downstairs- where it counts ;\) ) 172cm. 68kgs. i`m riding a 161 locally made board.

I`ve said it before and i`ll say it again- check out a `HEAD intelligence` board. just what you want/need. (i wasn`t wrong last time was I?) lightweight board and incredibly stable at high speeds, and i know how much you like `speeds`. \:D

do yaself a favor, hit ya kick and part with some of ya hard-earned, ya won`t be disappointed. oh, and check ya e-mails.

  8. i saw fights and some `after evidence` that some dude took a slash at tha bar.

What you`ve got to remember is we`re not talking about seasoned, hardcore snowbound travellers here. The ones like you`d meet in say Fernie or Jackson Hole etc. We`re talking about average joes who have probably only been to the snow `hills` a cuppla handfuls of times. Which is why they need to ask "tha price of beer?", "can I rent ski wear?"...

They`ve obviously been sold on the promise of `champagne powder`, `cultural diversity`, blah, blah, blah. That and the fact that it`s so cheap and easy to access, why wouldn`t they wanna go?

I would like to know what percentage of peeps headed to Niseko this year, is their first time out of their own country for a snow-trip?? confused.gif

  9. BIG HANDY HINT No. 1:

if yar wanna get a cash advance on ya plastic fantastic, make sure ya credit card is one that ya need a PIN to preform that tranny. ya can do it at tha post office in Kutchan.
