  1. dont know, but as with most things there is a rather large language barrier. Tokyo just isnt as easy as cruising down the street in sydney and picking up a prepaid CD (unless you know tokyo quite well and speak the language).
  2. One of the more delightful variants of cottage cheese I took from Shakespeare's 'Amadeus'. Cottage cheese, plus a small splash of Brandy and brown sugar. Mix it all together. I then like to take slices of orange and apple (sliced at right angle to the core, skin still attached) and lay them on a plate. Then pour brandy and brown sugar on the fruit. On the top of it all put a big dollop of teh cottage cheese mix mentioned above.
  3. OO, but that encourages the show pony and the ongoing self promoting 'I love myself and so should everyone else because I think I am a sexy woman and you are all desperate men' attitude. It is like a scratched record. (I must say, I did find the post by OO rather funny)

  5. As may have ben read in another rather trivial and lame post of mine (which one would that be...) I bought some burton mittens, gortex outer reduced to about 7000yen from 16500yen. There are a lot of mittens and gloves on sale at the moment. i prefer mittens as they dont leak as much (due to FAR less stitching).

  7. infact, I at a yakitori place in Ginza called Bird Man. One of the yakitori stick was a big long bit of grilled and almost melted cheese twisted around the stick. It was the best thing I have eaten in 6 months.
  8. cheeseman is a legend. he tells it like it is.
  9. I have an unopened jar of vegM at my house. It is the vaiety that converts to a small drining glass once it is empty. Any bids?
  10. it doesnt look that bad. It has a pale orange colour
  11. The typical Japanese family home breakfast is a little hard to stomach. Plenty of energy in it and good for you, but not nice for breakfast. Mind you, neither is the typical western breaky of factory made toast and jam. I go to great lenghths and expense to may the individual ingridients of my killer muesli. As an aside, here is the ultimate breakfast drink. I commend it to you. into a blender put the following: 1 big cup of quality OJ 2 big spoons of natural, unsweetened yoghurt (Greek is best) 1 raw egg a handful of natural rolled oats a spoonfull of honey.
  12. El Nino! That refried bean eating, tequila drinking bastard.
  13. Yeah, good pickup Miteyak. What kind of student has a titanium notebook... ski trips to Japan?! By christ, in my day I came within a wisker of visiting the sperm bank to do business with them and collect my $70!!! I ended up joining the army reserve instead. Actually, back in 1991 I sold my ski stuff I was so hard for cash at uni. By the way, I recal that equation. Studied it in my first week at uni. Still studied it at the end. Good subject that one.
  14. I saw some really crap Japanese band that seemed 100% inspired by Bolt Thrower (are they still around?). It was in a really small bar in Ginza that gave pretty much anyone a free night on the stage.
  15. Besides of sausage, this Yeti will only eat chocolate.
  16. "bugger the money" you say.... there is a certain limitation to that arguement. I have tried to toss in the career towel a few times but I cant bring myself to kiss the moolar goodbye. The longer I leave it, the harder it gets to walk away. Life at uni was certainly a breeze. But man! I was so bloody poor I couldnt even afford to pay attention. I was Truly poorer than a crow.
  17. I am just about to book a holiday there for January. I have settled on going to an area called teh Alpenarena. It includes the resort villages of Laax and Flims. If anyone has any "christ man! dont go there!!" stories please tell me now. By the way, as I am travelling without my girlfeind and dont care much for hangovers, I am aiming at staying away from the actual resorts. Infact, I plan to spend two weeks staying here: http://www.nagens.ch/ This is a ski rental/eating/lift station etc facility near the top of one of the mountains. It also has a few public accomodati
  18. A place in Shinjuku called "Code" has some pretty interesting people to see (not really actually, just things that you would probably only see in Japan). I think they have a punk music night once a week.
  19. you should see what they do with the gerbil.
