  1. my ipod died (kinda) the night before a 24 hour flight from sydney-japan-toronto.

its still busted (a week later) and when you turn it on an apple is on the screen followed by some loud churning sounds and a picture of a file with an exclamation mark. i tried resetting it, plugging it in etc. the battery doesnt die either.

i think im going to have to send it back.

  2. i just bought the death cab for cutie dvd "drive well, sleep carefully". i like it because its more of a documentary with live footage mixed in rather than just a straight out live show. plus its filmed by a fan on the road with them in 16mm which adds a nice touch.

  3. i dont know if anyone is going to be able to help me out with this one, but does anyone know where id be able to buy stuff by the artist, yoshitomo nara in tokyo.

i know he used to have an exhibit at the hara museum in shinagawa but that has since ended.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

  4. RE: movies on demand and personal televisions.

i just flew on the most ghetto air canada plane out there. the whole set up was really old and there wasnt even a projection tv screen. just tiny screens that come down from the roof.

i am told some of the newer AC planes have individual tvs but as far as im concerned its all hearsay. ive been flying the toronto-tokyo route for 3 years now (sometimes as much as twice a year) and have never been on said plane. plus its one of their longest hauls! 14 hours or so!

on the plus side though, the older planes seem to have significantly more leg room. which made the flight a bit more bearable. just boring as.

  5. i usually dont get overly jetlagged. the combination of gravol and neocitran usually does the trick. i also push myself to go to bed late. mind over matter and all that.

im flying out of toronto to tokyo in a few hours. it'll be the first time im there for less than a month so i hope to get over the jetlag in a few days.

  6. we use brita at home. more than anything its just nice to not have to drink tap water and keep it in the fridge so we always have water that is always cold.

in the summertime i hate the lukewarm water that comes out of taps.
