  1. i think if you spent a bit more on your printer in the first place you will probably find that printer ink is reasonably priced. (this isnt a jab btw, just a blanketing statement \:\) ) its the cheapo printers that really bite you in the ass when it comes to replacing ink. my housemate has a lexmark [total wank] printer that she bought for 70 dollars or so and she spends close to that everytime she goes to fill it up.

i spent about 130 or so on my canon and the black ink goes for about 13 dollars (canadian that is) a pop. you can buy generic brands for a bit cheaper (i think around 10).

you really dont need to buy the branded ink (in my opinion). the only problems i hear of people replacing ink is when they get their existing catridges filled up by someone or with those take home kits.

  2. bar local toronto bands, the last [international] band ive seen live was death cab. they played in a huge venue, reminiscent of a giant tin can which was a bit of a lenny letdown. the last time i saw them they played for a couple hundred of people.

i also saw the morning after girls as per my friends advisory. they were awesome. if you are in australia you should check them out.

  3. has anyone spent time in seattle? if i remember correctly enderzero was from seattle but i dont know if he comes here much anymore

they were very loud. (surprisingly so, for just two guys).

    good show, though.

however the drummer was a bit bitchy, which wasn't cool. someone mistook him for an american & he wasn't happy.
they are toronto locals. my room mate has interviewed them numerous times and says they are both pretty obnoxious
  5. ive seen some pretty outrageous stuff having lived in canada for the past few years.

last year i lived on a toronto downtown street and our neighbours had an 10 foot inflatable nutcracker in their front lawn. the thing was up from november through to mid january.

when i was back in nova scotia this past weekend i saw what was probably an 8 foot inflatable snow globe with a snowman and santaclause inside. the thing was blowing fake snow and everything. it was REALLY tacky.

  6. orange pekoe is pretty much the standard tea here.

i enjoy earl grey, chai, genmai and darjeeling.

my room mate has just bought a sickenly disgusting cinnamon hazlenut dessert tea which makes the whole place smell like cinnabon.

  7. in the space of 4 days apple sent me a box for my ipod, came to my door to pick it up, fiddled with it for 2 days and then dropped it off when they were done. the result - a brand spanking new ipod.

im quite happy as my old one was beaten to shit. scratched all over and obviously as dead as a rock.

annoying that i lost all my tunes though.

incidently my computer died a few days after my ipod died so i lost my "back up" too.

  8. we used to use wireless in our place but had so many problems with our wireless cards/adapters we all just returned them and bought ethernet cords.

most of the time we would be connected to the internet for about 30 minutes and then it would disconnect us and wouldnt reconnect unless we turned the router off and on.
