I know this guy who goes up there with a bento his wife makes for him. Come 12 noon, he finds a snowseat, sits down and opens up his little plastic bento box with the carefully prepared contents and munches away. I always laugh at him. (And then I realise I wouldn't mind having what he's having.)

Many days when the sun is out I have the office lights off here. The Japanese staff think I'm strange..... even when I point out to them that having the lights on does not affect the brightness of the office in the slightest
- it only uses energy and costs us money. But they seem to think they'd be better off with the lights on..... -

There seems to be a lot of talk of Germans on this one.... is it common in Germany?
I went out with a girl at college and found out she was rather hairy under there. Up close, it really put me off. Definitely prefer without.

I once had someone make a payment from overseas. The charge was about 35000 yen. Even though we requested they pay bank charges, we had to pay the fees before the bank at this end would release the money - 4000 yen!!!
Next payment they made up for that, but it was a shock first time round.

Raising prices sure is a good idea, though not always easy in the situation I'm in (esp with current clients).

It's just so annoying because faxes either break down, don't get sent, are hard to read - and above all you don't have an electronic copy to edit.use etc so it just adds so much time.

I just hate them I really do.
I just wanted to say that, I think in this day and age they are WORTHLESS.
(One of my clients insists on communicating and sending info by fax rather than email, causing endless problems)

Believe it or not, incredibly they factor in how many holidays a person has when they decide on the annual salary. Just seems in his case they are spreading the annual salary over the year.

I had some guy mail us for a quotation on some work, pretty much straight to the point which was fine.
Anyway, we spend half a day putting a (very reasonable) quote together for him and he comes back to us with the most abrupt, impolite way you could possibly imagine. No initial greeting or signing off, no thank yous for spending the time to put things together, just ploughed right into critisisms (!?) and asking for something almost completely different because he didn't realise so much work was involved in what he originally did. I'd rather not take on a project than have to work with someone like him. Some people are just so unbelievably rude when communicating by email.
