I know when a distant relative was ill and had only months to live, it was real difficult knowing what to say. Obviously you couldn't say they looked good because they didn't. And they didn't want to be reminded about the grim reality all the time. Asking 'how are you?' as well seems odd.

Looks very gothic on an ipad. Perhaps ipad doesn't have comic, which would be scanadalous of course.
