  1. yah ryland man, you guys left just a bit early before i started hucking my body for real. like ben said, hopefully we'll have another chance to hit the park after your ankle has healed.

and yah, the switch back is smooth like butter. for me, it's definitely easier than a normal backflip. way more controlled

here is a sample pic... i would update the site today with the movies 'cept i forgot my computer at home.

  2. yah ditto that. i totally wanna sesh that badboy. the duct-tape gave me super powers man. optimum loft and rocket ship lift to mention a few.

actually, it didn't feel that much different. except it was a bit tight on the back, kind of like i was wearing a diaper (no comments about me being young, please).

about the heavyness.. let's put it this way, in walking back to my place, the shhiit in my backpack was so heavy that i've already started on my obaa-san crook in the back. booyeah

  3. oh my, i have a dreadful feeling this thread has started on account of last weekend... i can't fathom why though.

my jeans aged like 10 years at least... let's put it this way, i could go for the bleached punk rocker look.

as to whether or not it was cool or not, i offer this modified quote/retort of forest gump: "cool is what cool does".

regardless, it was funny shit! and i wont be forgettin' my pants again. i hope everyone can enjoy a laugh at my expense when i update my site with vids/pics of the whole experience.

  4. yo db. starting next update, all the movies'll be in quicktime too. the quality'll be lower b/c i had to keep the size done... but now ya can watch 'em on a mac! (adobe premier is great, point-click-point and they are quicktime!)

one condition, sign the guestbook plz! for some reason people are happy to give me feedback on anything BUT the guestbook (forum, msn or email). so, onegai shimasu!

  5. way way slow reply, but thanks db. love getting feedback about the site.

ok, concerning the forum names, i guess i haven't been in this game long enough. maybe i'll learn to call people by their forum names ... ?

anyway, this is an interesting thread! good call db

  6. dan eaton -> dane. i like the name

so here is a question. if you know a person outside of the forum (and therefore their real name) do you use their real name on the forum??

for me, it's totally weird calling someone by their forum name, unless they actually use it as a nickname in real life. it just makes me think, "what the shit am i doing? i would never call this person by this forum-name in real life"

  7. that was a lot to swallow badmigraine... i just wrote up a reply, but when i read it over i realized i had conflicted myself about 10 times. this is too hard to tackle at work.

anyway, i will just say that i didn't realize that many injuries were hidden. obviously there will be injuries -- these people are pushing themselves hard. but it there are that many... that said, i find the x-games inspirational. i get a huge rush out of learning new tricks, which is a lot more than conventional skiing has to offer (excluding powdery steeps and powdery trees). i've been skiing for so long that normal skiing isn't really fun for more than a few runs, and the steeps/trees aren't always accessible (especially back home, where they get skiied out in moments). so i watch the x-games for inspiration -- it kind of takes me there (to the park, and i picture myself smoothing out my existing tricks, or learning new ones). i don't really absorb the big business part of it, but yeah, you can see the companies behind the scenese... but, it's not like that will ever change. they have found a good way to make money.

for my part, i'm going to keep pushing my limit, and doign what i'm doing. rails, big air etc etc... the more i do it, the more i appreciate that i can hurt myself badly if i'm not careful, so i haven't been hucking like an idiot lately. guess that means i'll never be in the x-games!

  8. i cut a pair of old school racing skiis down way back in the day (actually, truth be told my dad did most the work.. har har har laugh it up) . anyway, it felt like skiing on toothpicks. no real balance in the air. landing them in powder was totally impossible, but landing them on hard pack killllled my knees. verdict? you're better off skiing on your boots, cuz then you wouldn't be able to ski at all, meaining you won't need knee braces within a week of using the cut down ones. (ok, it wasn't THAT bad)

  9. i figure that by having a mullet fluttering out from my helmet as i spin or flip it will draw attention away from my obvious bad style.

now now, i may be a youngin' (that said, any japanese sugar mommies want to adopt some young meat?) i believe i can drink legally anywhere in the world. besides, i come from the country where babies are weened off the whiskey bottle, and people live in igloos, right? right? at least that's what my southern cousins would have me believe...

  10. email comin' right up.

i'd really like to get into doing video, but i don't really have the hardware. all i have now is a digital still camera, which leaves a lot to be desired in the video department (i only get 15 frames per second which makes editing really shoddy)

i'd really like to buy a proper vid cam though, but the good ones are really expensive. what do you use?
