  1. Cool. My little fella is on a 5'6 kid fish. I can get boards from the local shapers after the Jnr riders are done with them. Will try before we buy but like you am dangling that carrot before the custom comes along!

More importantly, I need a new board for myself if we are going to get all these swells.

I've created a monster here. All he wants to to is surf. He's confidence is a bit higher than his ability at the moment.

He's going well. He can pump and goes for the pit! Likes to have at least 1 surf a day!
Is begging me for a real board. I'm trying to keep him on the PU board as long as possible but I think it won't be long..

I used to drive past Wivenhoe dam QLD built in response after the 74 Bridbane flood , which is a huge catchment that holds the amount of x2 Sydney habour water. A few years ago it was like 20% full. Now it´s beyond capacity and letting it out.
Seeing vids of how much water the dam is releasing is unbelievable.
They must be glad they built that.

I heard that it was at 187-185%. Imagine if it wasn't there.

    That's heartbreaking SH.
  5. We are in Lennox Head, which is an hour south of the QLD border. It has pretty much been raining since the September school holidays. Seriously, almost every frikkin day. I would hate to a mum having the kids at home these holidays!

The rivers are holding up ok but all that rain from north has to go somewhere. Haven't had a good fish in ages, or surf for that matter

JA, there is some flooding on the Pacific HWY by passing Ballina , nothing major but enough to hold everything up.

We have shops like Big W, K Mart etc, just not mega malls.
If we want all that we can drive 1 hr to the Gold Coast to get all that.

I don't like shopping anyway, I do my research and just in & out!

    Similar to Mantas.
As long as we can have a surf I don't mind.
The weather we have up here though is rain rain rain at the mo and getting a bit boring being home bound.
  8. Japan lacked good bacon. It was paper thin..

You guys complaining about sausages, go to a brazilian shop and you will get great ones (made by Brazilians though).

We found a few great foreign restaurants , Thai & especially Mexican but generally were to Japanese tastes.

But then again, some Japanese places here are pretty crap too. We went to a Teppanyaki restaurant last week and cooked in sukiyaki nabe! & they served the Miso about 20 mins before the food!

    Hanging for Yakiniku...
