  1. Topic seems to have developed into a gaijin discussion, which is interesting in itself.

There seem to be 2 main extremes in my experience - the gaijin who lives in an almost completely gaijin-environment (expat guys and gals), and the gaijin who hardly ever meets another gaijin, living in a rice field in Akita (or somewhere just as beautiful).

In my (admittedly limited) experience, the former has few Japanese contacts and so is the more friendly customer. The latter is the one immersed in Japan, so feels strange when he/she sees another gaijin in "his" territory.

    Anyone else find that?

  2. Thing is though, gamers will already have a PS2 for the most part.

It's the games that cost - and they have not come down in price. All of the consoles bring a loss for the hardware makers, they make their money on the software.

Now if they reduced that cost, it certainly would be a good time for gamers.

  3. You liked Cube, Ocean11? Is that the one where there's these people stuck in claustrophobic rooms and corridors? I must have been in the wrong "mood" when I saw that.

Shawshank is a great movie. I liked Green Mile too, directed by the same bloke.

Fun action movies - a Bond movie is always good good for a laugh, especially when there were crazy baddies wanting to rule the world. (The new one is out in November I hear, called Die Another Day).

Not really into Python myself. American Pie made me laugh, perhaps embarrasingly.
