Saw it by luck the other day.
Not very good I thought.
These gyus ended not doing many lines, so they had to fill it with history stuff and where the girl came from and that she had 3 brothers, etc.... blah blah blah
The little BC riding footage they had was excellent though.
It seems they were riding spring conditions in AK.
I do not think sponsors would have taken the risk to let SW and other sponsored kids go in the middle of the powder season (they must be too busy anyway).
Why take a heli to the top of a AK mountain to build a kicker?
Not sure, guess snow and views are better... Seems silly.
The air they got though was amazing!
Farmer is wayyyyyy past his prime, he talks a lot about experience...
The ride down 7601 was very nice to watch.
I can understand why the others had decided to turn around.

did you guys notice the Kamoshika in the picture?

There's loads to do after the ski season assuming you are into the outdoors. Most mountains will look more like overgrown jungles than alpine peaks though. To get a better alpine feel you need to head towards hakuba.

Ah Sanno, thanks for looking, you just satisfied my curiosity!

thanks for pointing out the mustard, I had missed that.

I was just wondering what country was starting by 63 since when I drop my kid to nursery I always see this car with a blue plate starting by that number. Just plain curiosity.
I found a site explaining the diffence between embassador, etc...
http://www.tigerdude.com/japan/license/diplo.html
so what could possible fall between 58 and 68 posted by Sanno above?
I assume it is in alphabetical order based on the english name.
CB, I know where you live, I have the means to make you confess sins you have not even thought about commiting yet...

Always been curious, does anybody know where one can find the list of country codes with regards to the first 2 digits of diplomatic license plates in Japan. My google searches are fruitless.

Funny they just realized that this year...

for SJ peeps in the know, which resort has the best pools/slides for kids? Domo !

and you can use the pooh as fertilizer, or face mask for the ladies, whichever you prefer.

kind of remind me of the question: 'why do dogs lick their #### ?'
You know the answer to that one.

Interesting, so if correct, after the sale to the HK peeps, and the departure of that Quantas lady then direct flights stopped. I am sure there will be plenty of more directs from HK now though!
-
I was wondering about that. Given how lucrative the Tokyo-Sapporo route is, I am sure ANA / JAL were not overly excited to see peeps flying directly to Sapporo.
-
Yes Klingon, you are correct, meant Sapporo !
Will try to change that.

I was told Sapporo direct flights from australia are now gone. I am not sure whether this is accurate or not, maybe somebody can confirm. If Niseko was so popular, and flights from australia always full, I am wondering why the direct flights would be cancelled?
I was also told this is going to dent real estate prices substantially and pretty quickly and burn quite a few people who have invested to speculate there despite the new resort management and the other flights from Asia. I assume that people who are invested or own something there will disagree, just wondering what peeps think in general.
It would seem to explain why Hakuba is becoming ever more popular (beyond the usual terrain/snow arguments). If you have to change plane in Tokyo, you may as well head over to Haks.
It all seems fad-related boom-bust locust action supported by individuals/firms with commercial interests. I wonder where the next fashionable ski destination will be in Japan after Niseko and Hakuba. It will also be interesting to see what happens once the AUD starts weakening and the impact on vacationers coming from Australia.

Thanks to quarreling politicians, gas at the pump has just plummeted. Should last until april 29th at least.

Stunt, is that u on the steep pic?

Nice pics, nice snow, nice weather.
Loon seems to have the tendency to grow antlers when hiking.
How did that board end-up in the river? bad toss?
-
Yes, that was an interesting experience!

I hope you meant "mold on my back" and not "tumour in my spine".

Nice TR and pics as usual.
E releases onto S in that area have been going off all season. Was told facets & goblets are gone on E at higher elev, but is now one giant slush waiting to release.
Like the pic w/ mura-one in the background.
Wish we could get a little bit more of winter before we get baked to death for good. Transition was too quick.

A shame the video stopped half-way, could be used as learning material. Seems east-facing dropping? once again... Wonder what time this video was taken.
How deep was your crack Oke?
