  1. Go to Dick Smiths. they usually have all the different convertors. Got my UK-AU convertor there so I could charge my phone, camera, Discman while I was there.

If you have multiple devices that all use different chargers, take them all with you to DS's and see if they can sell you one with a multiposition switch, and various plug ends so you can charge everything with one charger. Saves heaps of weight and space.

Damn obvious I would have thought. :p
Didn't one Japanese company have a jingle (or ad copy) about how their equipment worked best on Japanese snow.

I think some-one posted on the DB at one time.
  3. At "Family Xmas Dinner" this year, we have a chef living at the residence, so we have something like 2kg 50-75 prawns, 4kg chicken breasts, 4kg fillet of beef, 1 dozen 1L bottles champagne (sorry, "sparkling NV wine"), 1 dozen Alacante Bouche, 1 dozen Boujelaise (sorry "short vintage, soft red style wine").

Gonna be an early start to get through all of that \:\)

  4. Had both ears done at 14, but they both got infected and left hard lumps.

Had the left lobe done when I was 22, but the right ear still had the lump until I was about 30+.

After the left ear (when it took them 3 goes to get it right and I ended up with 1 hole at the front and 2 at the back and blood running down my neck) I gave up on getting piercings.

    Why 3 pairs of gloves??
One pair on my hands, one pair in the drying room and one pair in my room as spares. I hate cold wet feet and I hate cold wet hands. I snowseal my gloves so not too much gets in that way, but occassionally (or more often) I get a bit of snow in the top of the gloves.
3 pairs also means that I can afford to lend a pair to someone if needed.
Actually I also carry a couple of cheap nylon pairs to use in snowball fights so I don't ruin my lovely AuClair ski gloves.

Coz, stuff is hell expensive at the on-piste cafe's, and I'm a sucker for a drink and someething to eat at lunchtime. OK, I probably don't carry THAT much cash, but enough for a whole day of coffe and drinks and food.

    Pick me, pick me :jumping_up_and_down_waving_hand_icon:

Yeah, I soooo miss boarding I might have to go to our indoor slope for a slide.

After my first year I had pretty bad SDS, then the next year was bad, and then the next year was bad SDS. Next season, work is threatening to not allow people to take holidays during ski season (not coz it's ski season, but for some other reason) so I might be looking for a new job.

Used to drop monitors from the roof of a 4 storey building into the dumpster - very satisfying \:D
  8. It happens in Australia too.

Quite often I am tempted to give some little shyte a smack up the back of the head.

    Typical scene:

Child pulls stuff off supermarket shelf

Parent say "Thats naughty Jimmy, I don't want you to do that again"

Child runs off and pulls more stuff of shelf

Parent say "Thats naughty Jimmy, I don't want you to do that again"

Raury walks past and accidently knock child while trying to retrieve something off the shelf "sorry" - NOT
