All points noted, thanks. Other sites that you upload to for free do not link all the relevant photos with relevant Japanese ski resorts, prefectures, categories & galleries like we do on this site. We think (and general feedback has said) that these features are in general a very useful thing to have and we put a lot of effort into creating it to be as interlinked as possible, hopefully for everyones benefit. Speaking from our point of view, we would much prefer photos to be uploaded to SJ if possible rather than be hosted somewhere else and then linked. More photos on SJ is g

Hi SerreChe. Like I said it would be extremely complex to change things so that the settings for multiple pictures are changed on one form and until now only Fattwins has mentioned this. However since Fattwins did mention it again it is something that we will once more discuss to explore what is involved and if it is realistic for us to make those changes. Personally I think that a form that allows you to upload 5 photos would be way too big and clumsy and even put many people off. Fattwins, that is not something that will be changing for a number of reasons. Each photo uploaded to the site has a lot of information associated with it - prefecture, resort, country, gallery, caption, user defined gallery, etc) and it would be very complex to modify it all so that 5 could be uploaded at the same time... certainly more complex than the final benefits of doing so. It would also make the uploading page very busy and more complex so we are not sure that many people would actually appreciate it. Thanks

Will look into that SirJib, again this is something that is not quite possible at the moment.

Just to update you on the ratings thing - unfortunately in the current coding of the forums we are not able to change that right now to allow individual on/off settings. Sorry about that to those who wish to be able to turn it off.... we will be trying to get this changed however and promise that if and when it does become possible we will implement it as quickly as we can.

OK just taken a look at that one --- everyone (for) now is "SJ Forums Member". (I think that's how everyone was on the old forums setup, seems that things got a bit mixed up for some reason due to the switchover).

bobby, (about the links) we don't have control over that aspect of display and so don't hold your breath Also if you click on the latest post link on the right hand side of each thread in the listings, it takes you directly to the latest post

soubriquet, we are well aware that you want your rating off. As I mentioned before, it is currently not possible for us to change that setting. However, we are looking into it and if there is a way to modify settings to allow you to do that we will do it. I'm sorry but that is all we can do right now on this particular issue. Thanks.

As far as I can tell, we do not even have the ability to turn it on or off in general (ie. for everyone or no-one), and there is currently no settings for indidivuals to change that in their own settings. Mr Tech is looking into it, and if this becomes possible we will make it so that individual members can turn that voting feature visible or not. That is all I can do about it at this moment. Thanks.

Yes maoriboy, if you are not keen on the layout of the new forums, you can easily turn off that right hand side colum - when you do that they will be fairly similar to how they were before the changes were made. Thanks!

At the moment that is not possible, SirJibAlot - though it is something we hope might be possible sometime later.

We can do "Recent Active Topics" (ones with new posts) or "Recent New Threads" (new posted threads) - and specify which forums the listings come from (all forums or just 1, ie. Snow Talk). Any thoughts?

Interesting idea - testing that out now......

LARGER FONTS We have now created a new "stylesheet" for the Forums which in effect makes all the fonts/text on the Forums displayed larger. To change the font sizes displayed, go to My Stuff and then My Preferences. You should see an section called Your preferred stylesheet. In that dropdown, please choose snowjapan-largerfonts. Scroll down the page and click Submit. When you do that you should find that the fonts of all the parts of the forums are larger than before. (You can of course go back to the smaller font version at any time).

QUOTATION BOXES We have adjusted the way quotation boxes appear in posts - they should now look generally cleaner and better laid out than before.

LAYOUT: We have made some changes to the layout of the Forums. The default is now 2 columns and you are able to turn off/on the right hand side column in My Stuff > My Preferences. GRAEMLINS We have added the original SJ graemlins which can now be used on the "Quick Reply" and "Reply" pages as well as in the Shout Box. You should now be able to post them by using the shortcuts you are used to as well (for example "colon and right bracket" for smiley). In the main "Reply" form, click on the "Smilies" icon link and you will be able to just click on the Graemlin you want to use
