No worries snowjunky - I hope you understand what I mean by that explanation.
One that lots of people use is http://www.imageshack.us but there are others.
Of course, anything ski/snowboard/Japan related is most welcome in our Photos section
-
snowjunky - I've moved that image to somewhere else on the server - out of the main photos section. Could you please keep the photo uploads to the site snow and/or Japan related? Otherwise if we allow any kind of unrelated photo to the Galleries / Photo section, it will get clogged up with 'off-topic' photos, and it will make the Galleries less useful to everyone.
If you want any recommendations for free photo upload sites give us a shout and will be happy to help.
Thank you

There already is a link to the Forums on the page, thursday...

Good idea peterson.... that would at least let people know we got the message and whether to expect a response...
-
Problem is, we don't really like ignoring emails and do enjoy being as friendly as possible.
We'd much prefer people get the message and didn't send the messages in the first place!
(We got 1 message this morning that had 10 long and detailed questions. Not even a please on the end, it was more like a demand!)

A bit of advice from friendly Forum members required.
On our Contact Us page, above the contact form the following message is written:
Quote:Please note before contacting us with specific questions:We are an information website/online community - not a travel agency. This means that unfortunately we will not be able to answer specific questions about hotels, resorts, travel arrangements, specific bus schedules, where to buy big boots etc - or provide specific information about employment opportunities at resorts. For the most part, the information that we do have is already on our site. Check our Site Map and Start Here pages. (Due to the very large number of mails that we receive, it is impossible for us to reply to each and every one explaining this.)
We also recommend that you register on the popular SnowJapanForums and post your specific question on there - you are more than likely to get a good response! Thanks for your understanding.
We still get tons of people sending messages using that form asking specific questions about.... hotels, resorts, travel arrangements, specific bus schedules, where to buy big boots etc.
Is the message not clear?
Any ideas on how to make it clearer (without using a font size 72)?
PS We'll be adding more info about some of those things in the coming months

I really do not know what you are trying to do this afternoon with your persistant comments and provocations and then going ahead and posting a very clear advertisement.
Here's the Guidelines for these Forums:
http://www.snowjapanforums.com/ubbthreads.php/forums/12/1/Forums_Rules_Guidelines_FAQ.html
If you have not read them I suggest you take a look.
At first, everyone is welcome to post on these Forums.
All we ask is that everyone sticks to the Guidelines.
If for whatever reason you can't accept those Guidelines, then the only thing we can suggest is that you don't post here.
We're not really keen on 'playing games' in public in this kind of way, so please no more comments or comebacks - they will get deleted.
If you have any issues with your account and/or even wish to post an advertisement on our site, the way to contact us is by email.
Thank you.

Your thread was an advertisement.

If you find it so difficult and/or tiresome to change the setting when you are logged in to ON, I can only suggest that you logout and use the Forums that way.
-
Look, if you are having issues could you please email us with them rather than creating long threads like this on the matter?
I would also still be very interested to hear why you think that anonymous users have more priveleges than yourself.
Thank you.
-
If you turn 'Show User's Avatars?' to ON you will be able to see those pictures.
You currently have it set to OFF, and so you cannot see them.
So is there any 'other' part of our 'nice system' that gives anonymous users more priveleges than yourself?

I'm sorry, but do you mind telling me in what way you think that is the case?
The quickest way to contact us is to send us an email at the contact address / form - there are Contact Us links on every page of the Forums. -
People certainly do seemore - you may be surprised.
Thanks for the help before Mamabear and yes I totally agree with you and we of course have no problems with that.
I wasn't at all implying that anyone in this thread was doing such things I hope you understand!
-
Yes I have done that for you SantaCruz.
Just a general comment but please keep in mind that our Forums rules ( here ) apply to PM's too. PM's aren't a means to do sales/advertise/promote. Someone last year thought it was a real coup to be able to send out their sales message to 50 established Forums members. It certainly would have been if we allow that, but we don't.
Thanks.
-
I don't see why not, Rob.
-
It would be very nice wouldn't it.
There will be lots of Giveaways once again and we'll tell you more on that nearer the time....

Hi Mantas, those pics aren't defined image URLs, so the pics not showing.
If they are snow related, feel free to up them to SJ:
http://www.snowjapan.com/e/insider/photo_gallery.php
Otherwise just make sure it is a definite URL in the form http://www.../imagename.jpg
-
-
That is simply just a decision I think I made when we were putting them all together, snowjunky. We made those ourselves you see, and had to come up with names for them all. On reflection perhaps an English word would be best - but you can always just click on it to get it in there. Sometimes the Japanese comes quicker than the English.
-
There isn't more detailed data on the pages, spook, sorry.
What you could do is look at the archives of the daily reports we do - might not be exactly the kind of thing you want but there is definitely useful info in there, for those popular regions:
http://www.snowjapan.com/e/daily/nowcalendar.php
(If anyone else has any other info for this kind of thing we would be keen to hear about it - please contact us directly and we will see what we can do. Thanks.)
I would think the best time in terms of snowfall in most areas on an normal year would be mid-January to mid-February.
-
Yes, thanks 1 and everyone else who has provided feedback. It has given us a good idea of what people are using and is very helpful.
Thanks.
-
Have a great time Mamabear.
-
Thanks again for the feedback, it's all a big help. Interesting how so many people are using just a few versions.
-
Which reminds me. At the request of a few lazy people, you have one more week to post some pics in this thread - lasto chansu!
The Friday thread!

snowjunky the tags you have in the above post are youtube ones, but it's an image .jpg file you have embedded, not a youtube video.....
