  1. snowjunky - I've moved that image to somewhere else on the server - out of the main photos section. Could you please keep the photo uploads to the site snow and/or Japan related? Otherwise if we allow any kind of unrelated photo to the Galleries / Photo section, it will get clogged up with 'off-topic' photos, and it will make the Galleries less useful to everyone.

If you want any recommendations for free photo upload sites give us a shout and will be happy to help.

    Thank you

  2. A bit of advice from friendly Forum members required.

On our Contact Us page, above the contact form the following message is written:

    Quote:
Please note before contacting us with specific questions:

We are an information website/online community - not a travel agency. This means that unfortunately we will not be able to answer specific questions about hotels, resorts, travel arrangements, specific bus schedules, where to buy big boots etc - or provide specific information about employment opportunities at resorts. For the most part, the information that we do have is already on our site. Check our Site Map and Start Here pages. (Due to the very large number of mails that we receive, it is impossible for us to reply to each and every one explaining this.)

We also recommend that you register on the popular SnowJapanForums and post your specific question on there - you are more than likely to get a good response! Thanks for your understanding.

We still get tons of people sending messages using that form asking specific questions about.... hotels, resorts, travel arrangements, specific bus schedules, where to buy big boots etc.

    Is the message not clear?

Any ideas on how to make it clearer (without using a font size 72)?

    wink

PS We'll be adding more info about some of those things in the coming months

I really do not know what you are trying to do this afternoon with your persistant comments and provocations and then going ahead and posting a very clear advertisement.

Here's the Guidelines for these Forums:

    http://www.snowjapanforums.com/ubbthreads.php/forums/12/1/Forums_Rules_Guidelines_FAQ.html

If you have not read them I suggest you take a look.

At first, everyone is welcome to post on these Forums.

All we ask is that everyone sticks to the Guidelines.

If for whatever reason you can't accept those Guidelines, then the only thing we can suggest is that you don't post here.

We're not really keen on 'playing games' in public in this kind of way, so please no more comments or comebacks - they will get deleted.

If you have any issues with your account and/or even wish to post an advertisement on our site, the way to contact us is by email.

    Thank you.

I'm sorry, but do you mind telling me in what way you think that is the case?

The quickest way to contact us is to send us an email at the contact address / form - there are Contact Us links on every page of the Forums.
  5. That is simply just a decision I think I made when we were putting them all together, snowjunky. We made those ourselves you see, and had to come up with names for them all. On reflection perhaps an English word would be best - but you can always just click on it to get it in there. Sometimes the Japanese comes quicker than the English.

  6. There isn't more detailed data on the pages, spook, sorry.

What you could do is look at the archives of the daily reports we do - might not be exactly the kind of thing you want but there is definitely useful info in there, for those popular regions:

(If anyone else has any other info for this kind of thing we would be keen to hear about it - please contact us directly and we will see what we can do. Thanks.)

I would think the best time in terms of snowfall in most areas on an normal year would be mid-January to mid-February.
