Into the last stretch of the 2023-2024 ski season...
Sunday 31st March was the last day of the season for over 80 ski areas throughout Japan. As of 1st April, about 80 ski areas remain open.
It is the time of year when we check and record the actual opening dates and actual closing dates of every ski area in Japan. (In some examples, it is not as simple as it sounds!)
Over the coming weeks, we will gradually add this data to the individual ski area pages within SnowJapan.
Here's one example that has already been done (see the season dates near the top of the page):

Please note that both the opening and closing 'planned season dates' are not updated during the ski season. Ski areas may close earlier or later than those planned dates.
