The one that comes to my mind is the one down from the Ropeway at Ryuoo Ski Park. That caused me (and my admiteddly weak knee that day) some problems. Seemed to cause everyone on the course problems too!!
Yeah! Ryuoo's also the gnarliest park for me, yet one of most enjoyable!

That sounds delicious! I love those foods..

Either Hirafu or Annupuri will be alright, but based on you plans that you'd still want to go to Hirafu at night, it's better that you'll just stay at Hirafu all day, it would be more cheaper than you think you can if you'll go in Annupuri in daytime. Your expenses in commuting will just be the same.

I'm planning on 20 days back to San Fransisco / LA, not booked yet.
That sounds interesting! I also want to have a visit LA too. But just a plain plan for now.

Hi folks
I'm new in the community. So let me introduce myself first.
I'm an addicted powder skier from Spain who is planning to make with a group of friends a dreamed trip to Hakkaido next year
We have started barely from the scratch; as you can imagine there are few people in my country considering this as a snow destination and they just put in their agendas the Alps.
Lucky me, I've found this phorum
Anyway, we're trying to figure out how to get to Sapporo. We have several options to reach Tokio, but after the layover we've got to head to Sapporo. I've read that there are several lowcost carriers that make the route, but unfortunately they don't sell tickets further October 2014.
So, my question is the one that follows. Do you know when they make available those ticktes for travelling in January 2015?
Any other carriers besides Jetstar, Skymark or Vanilla Air that I should consider?
Since we won't have too much time, we don't want to spend the night over Tokyo, nor spend to much time in the layover. Will we find problems in this sense regarding the frequency of the flights and the time scheduled?
Thank you very much for your help
Eduardo
Welcome to the Forum! Anyway, Japan's really a great place for ski vacation and I'm sure you will have an awesome and worth vacation if you'd find time to stay atleast 1 week. Vanilla Air or Jetstar is a good option though.

I think it's
1. Grand Hirafu
2. Rusutsu
3. Nozawa Onsen
or
4.Happo-one

January this year was our first ski trip to Japan, we spent 7 days at Guryu.
Goryu was great but just looking for another area to try FEb 2015 and that also has ski in and ski out pensions.
I am intermediate groomer( didnt get a chance to try out powder) wife is a nervous beginner.
Wife loved going out for dinner at night rather than staying in for dinner. My research has come up with Myoko Kogan, Madarao.
Nozawa sounds great but the ski fields area seem a bit far from acc.
I want to go off skiing for the day, knowing my wife is close to acc, so she can go back and forth to the beginner slopes during the day.
Any thoughts? or am I asking too much.
Thanks Manfred
Yeah! Enjoy your vacation in Japan, Im sure your wife will love it too. Spend the days right my friend. Enjoy!

1400 looks like a good price for those crabs there.
The black dots are parasites that only attach to the tastiest crabs, so the vendors leave them on and remove after you buy it.
Did you get any?
Whoa! Looks so scary to eat but look so yummy too! Wish I could get there soon. @_@

Wow! A big hand of applause for MagSeven.. And it also means that I need to go to Japan sooner! :3

What a beautiful day! It's kinda chilly and windy outside, and it's a sign of a great week in the hills. Weee!

Starting this season, I'd been skiing for a maximum of 3-5 days. 1-2 days is really not enough.

I love the pictures of the peaks around Hakuba, definitely has that big mountain Alpen feel to the area, more so than a lot of the other resort areas I've been to in Japan
Agreed. Also the only resort with easy access to a true alpine environment.
So agree! Japan's really has one of the best Alpine mountains in the world. Never been in Hakuba yet, but think I will include this on my bucket list.
