In other news, little toes are massively frustrating. Currently in the Akabane A&E after connecting mine heavily with my sparring partner's elbow. Just before a tournament.

Ah, found it - it's the Sports Paradise shop that's opposite starbucks on Yasukuni dori, just by the Meiji Daigaku junction. English speaking staff too, if you need it. Or even if you don't, as one of the staff had a panic attack even after I spoke to him in (in my humble opinion) pretty standard Japanese and threw the poor international staff member my way, who then gave me a knowing apologetic look.
Mind you, there are quite a few that will now be revising down their prices because of the end of the season. See what you can get! I'd avoid the major chain stores though, they have a long turnaround and aren't exactly value for money.

the place I'm looking to get a full tune up after the season ends is about 6,300. That's a clean, edge deburr and sharpen, superficial p-tex fixes, hot wax, stone grind and structure - though I'll just ask them to leave the wax on at the end for storage's sake.
It's in Ochanomizu, probably one of the places you've seen.
don't trust myself to do it properly and save the stick from rusting etc.

Fans of J-League club Urawa Reds produce racist ‘Japanese Only’ banner in their stadium

Urawa Reds fans produced a shocking banner today during their J-League defeat to Tosu.
A photograph of the ‘Japanese Only’ banner went viral on Saturday with it believed to be aimed at foreign tourists.
The club had eleven Japanese players in their starting XI but do have a Serbian manager.
Urawa Reds defender Tomoaki Makino said after the game, “This is what should not be done to the player who play for Urawa with pride”.
He continued “[if] we can’t be united, we can’t win”.
Well, every club has its issues; surely it can't be tha-

Joking aside, not good. I regularly go to Reds games, and I feel very encouraged not to do so now.
What is encouraging however, is the number of people who are actually speaking out against this racism.
However, I will am very interested to see what official sanctions, if any, will be put against this club. We all know that certainly in the UK this would be very widely published.
