Okay great. So far I have narrowed it down to Naeba/Kagura, somewhere in Nagano, or somewhere in Hokkaido. If I go to Hakuba or Hokkaido I'm not sure which area would suit me the best. I was thinking Rusutsu in Hokkaido or Hakuba Goryu in Nagano.

I'm not sure yet. I would be open to staying over at a resort for a night or two...

Hello all, I am relatively new to this forum and was wondering if anyone could help me out with a few things. I am going to Tokyo from December 17th to January 3rd with my girlfriend who is from there. I have lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA for the majority of my life and would consider myself an intermediate to advanced skier, as my home resorts are Alta and Snowbird. I was wondering if there is a solid ski resort not too far from Tokyo that I would enjoy? I'm looking for deep snow, steep terrain, a relatively larger resort, and conveniency.
