How does the flex feel just playing around with it? Bit more play than your other boards?

Aiming for 30 this season, but will be happy with 20+.. Got 22 in last season.

Happo's FB page said they would be a good chance of opening for the long weekend.. Reckon some early turns will be a go..
Long range forecast (MeteoStar) is looking sweet for Sat 24th and Sun 25th, after some rain on the Friday.. Possibly another dump for the 30th/1st, looking like a good start

I use the Cartels on my supermodel, and I have found them to be very good. For powder, I don't think you need super stiff bindings really, but I think a lot of it comes down to personal preference.
I have the Cartels as well (mostly bolted to an Arbor Element), can't fault them.

I would try Naeba/Kagura or Tenjin (only if the home trail is open, otherwise too small), they are close enough, easy enough to get to and are snow magnets. You can get cheap deals for Naeba from JR (train tix, hotel & lifts), if heading to Tenjin check out Canyons or Tenjin Lodge for accommodation.
Hopefully there is are solid early falls this year...

Once I get them sorted out I will happily sell a few for what they cost me to people who are genuinely interested.
Its all new so I may be building a noodle or a plank lol, I just dont know. I definately have some r&d ahead of me. At this stage im hoping to bring 3 or 4 to hokkaido with me to test out, all with minor differences to core thickness so I can work out what is perfect for me.
Board is looking awesome! Thought about putting any carbon stringers in it to stiffen it up? Seems to be what everyone is doing these days..

Minakami is a winner I reckon, with Tenjin, Houdaigi, Okutone, etc. Also, white world is ment to be as good as anywhere after a big dump when Tenjin is closed (haven't been personally but)...
Area has heaps of onsens, gaijin friendly accomm (and full Japanese style) and pretty easy to get to from Tokyo.

I reckon Nozawa Onsen would be a great first trip to Japan. Nice village, big mountain, English lessons available, big wide beginner slopes and more advanced stuff for when you get going.. Also pretty close to the snow monkeys for a good day trip on a down day..

Traditionally in an "El Nino" year Tokyo gets a lot more snow than normal
Given that Tokyo gets very little snow except maybe well out in the Okutama area, I doubt Nino/Nina have much effect.
What snow Tokyo does get tends to come in very late winter and melt away in 12 C sunshine the following day.
The snow in Tokyo doesn't seem to melt quick enough to stop the comical amount of car accidents the following morning though...

Looking at getting a split + bindings & skins, looks a lot easier than plodding in snow shoes.. Reckon the Jones Hovercraft 160 split is the go but still need to do more research (and then think of a way to sneak it passed the mrs
)..Do yourself a favour and google jones split warranty etc. Lots of unhappy campers
Cheers for the heads up gozaimass, will do a bit more looking around. Up until now only heard good things about Jones kit.

G'day, new here but thought I would put my 2 cents in anyway... This pretty sums up my view - Reducing emissions and being smarter with energy, etc. can only be a good thing right?

I just dropped a bunch of cash on the Hovercraft 160 split, Spark R&D Burner LTs, Spark skins and the mounting kit... Hanging out to break it all in over the new year, hopefully be able to score a few good turns and forget about what it cost, haha.
