  1. Digital or data corruption was what I was getting. Unfortunately only have the one SD card. May have to head down to Kutchan to pick up another. Still seems odd that it works at highest resolution.
  2. Thanks for the responses. No it is not a fog issue. I have the anti fog inserts in and it was not choppy video due vibration. Think I may have found the problem as I changed the setting today to the highest resolution. Just uploaded today's files and they appear to be working when I use the highest resolution available. Now to edit out all the crap skiing which should leave me with about 10 seconds of respectable skiing
  3. Purchased Hero 2 Go Pro recently so as to get some footage while skiing. After 2 days in Hirafu have nothing but distorted files. Works ok if taken from room, but all the files taken while skiing are crap. Anyone else had similar problems.
  4. I'm a bit of a Luddite when it comes to this. Have sent them an email, which is an accomplishment for me. Next on the bucket list is to learn to use " Skype". Asking my teenage siblings how to use technology can be embarrassing as they keep telling me 2 txt me or Put it on FB.
  5. Why did you not just help them out and contact them if there was a problem? Or you just choose to 'leave it and move on'? If I had chose to leave it and move on, I would not have mentioned it in my post
  6. Tried the link through snow japan site which did not work. Is it possible to pre book private and group lessons on line with NISS? Thanks FBS
  7. Having never skied in deep powder, was wondering if I should bring along powder straps so that I am not digging around looking for ski's. Or am I just over optimistic or worse, letting my ambition get ahead of my ability!!!
  8. Arrive next week in Niseko from Aus with family after having to cancel last March. Better late than never i guess. Have heard stories of people getting caught out in the past trying to get CC cash advances from ATM's in Japan. Has the situation changed or are there any precautions that should be taken. Have prepaid for most things except ski hire and lessons.
  9. Wife was worried about FX movements. Not a biggy for me. More interested in ensuring I can hire decent equipment. I have my own boots but the rest of the family hires all equipment. Need to make sure they are OK and happy so I can enjoy
  10. Will be skiing Niseko next month and would like advice on the following on whether to organize and pay for ski hire on line before departure or to arrange once we arrive. Secondly any recommendations regarding ski hire in Niseko. FBS

Not surprising, however when competing for the tourist dollar it can influence the decision making process. Determined the accommodation I selected as I have an issue with people demanding full payment in August as opposed to 50% at booking with the balance 8 weeks later with no compromise on level of accommodation.

  13. Photographic evidence is a definate. Been waiting too long to ski Japan. Thinking of getting a helmet cam as well.
  14. After having to pull the pin on skiing Niseko in March this year have locked in and booked Niseko for Jan 2012 with the family in tow. Hope it lives up to the hype in the threads which have been an invaluable source of information in helping us make our decision around accommodation etc. Roll on January
  15. Planning to ski with family in Niseko either Dec 9th to 20th (approx) or early Jan around 6th to 16th. Have read a couple of posts that Dec may be risky as less snow. December is more cost effective than Jan, however pointless if there is little snow. Is December a greater risk of no snow? Appreciate your comments. FBS
  16. Travel from Tokyo is not a big issue as I can jump an early morning flight from Tokyo. Prefer to get the best skiing possible and I figure the further north I am the better the skiing will be. Can get late flight out of Sapporo so I can get half a day on the last day. A bit concerned that everything is starting to close down at this time and accommodation might be scarce Thanks
  17. Have a few days spare at the end of a business trip and plan to ski at niseko. Cannot get there until April 2nd and only have 5 days to ski. Is the spring skiing ok. Also is accommodation still available or are many places closed by April? Thanks
  18. Have a few days spare at the end of a business trip in Tokyo and would like to ski niseko. Arrive April 2nd which is towards end of season. Compared to Australia what is spring skiing like in Niseko?
