A friend of mine came to visit Hokkaido for a few days in March and put together a pretty decent video.
I miss winter!
-
Haha, yep, its Hirafu. That's all I had I'm afraid!
Over to you Dr!
-
OK, moving swiftly on... (I'm running out of pictures to post, I really need to visit some more ski jo!)
-
I spend a fair bit of time there, so I guess it just looked familiar!
I'll try and dig something out for my next photo....

Never have, even though it's very close to where I live. I really must man up and tackle its fearsome slopes one day. (And they say Hokkaido isn't steep!?)
-
That's the one. The enormous and gnarly Naganuma.
Over to you matey!
-
Nope, not Nakayama Touge
-
Thank you Mr Tsugaike Kogen!
Ok here's the next one.
And a Google Earth image
And, no, not Tsugaike Kogen.

Aspen, Colorado? Whistler, BC? Chamonix, France?
Tsugaike Kogen?
-
Yubari (Mt Racey) it is! Photo taken last Saturday on a bike ride. The large mountain in the background to the left is Yubaridake.
Over to you!
-
Nope, not Sahoro!
-
Yeah, unfortunately it's not Tsugaike Kogen!
-
Nope, not Furano!
-
Ok, here's the next one!

That's an awesome road to cycle down to the lake round the backside of Eniwa! Not so much coming back up. I prefer continuing along the lakeside path all the way round to Bifue campsite (even if it does mean pushing the bike over landslide debris and fallen trees!)

Woke up this morning to fresh snow that had settled everywhere. April 11th!?
-
It's snowing here! Quite wet and sleety, but definitely snow which is starting to settle. Should be nice up in the hills!
-
Are there any buses that go up that way, Mag?
Not sure! Never needed to take one! Alot of buses stop at the Michi no eki up there right next to the ski jo, so there must be somthing. Whether they're scheduled buses or just private tour groups, I don't know!
And, incase sunny park laps isn't enough to tempt you up there Tubby, later in the month and through Golden Week I think they have a load of jingis kan grills fired up at the bottom of the slope!

Yep Nakayama is open. The park is looking lush.

Will be heading up to Teine tomorrow. Could be a time travel day when it feels like it's still February....
-
Snowing here since early afternoon. It's been snowing since last night up north. Looks like windy snowy yuck weather tomorrow, but Sunday might be a decent day on the hill.

I was actually thinking of Nakayama Touge tomorrow! There's a yakiniku thing going on up there too. I kind of fancy a bit of park, its probably going to be my last resort skiing this year as I'll be away for GW.
