Sorry, I should have asked the question better. Yes, we will depart from the New Chitose Airport to "The Vale". We don't have much experience in driving in snow condition, but I guess at the mid Feb the road should be much better. Why we should stay out of the route 5..??

Hi, first time post on this forum. My friends & I will be driving up to Niseko "The Vale" for the first time in 21st Feb. Which is the fastest route..?? I've google map the route, but the funny thing is that on the highway 5 a total of 155km for 2hrs 43mins & on highway 276 a total 117km for 3hrs 20mins..?? thanks for advise
