Early morning is best. You can wait of course for the best light.
The Donguri option is great you can get Happo and 47 in the shots along with the mountains. Also you get a nice view of the town.
Dont drive your car all the way up the road it can be dangerous without chains even for 4wd cars.

Did you post this on another host? My PC doesnt run fast enough on here to see the video.

Weekdays no waiting of course.
Weekends depends on the lift really.
Tsugaike gondola 5 to 15mins wait any other lifts are mostly walk on.
Happo the same thing.

Early morning from Hakuba Highland, Aoni or Donguri look out above the avie barriers. Late night will give you the red sky as the sun sets behind.

go full face if you have frostbite problems.

So many places where are you staying? Wadano, Happo, Ecoland or goryu?
Goryu has 500 miles in Escal plaza.
Central snow sports is at the base of the happo gondola.
Loco and Yamatoya sports are near the train station.
Wadano has another 500 miles at the mominoki information center.
Ecoland has board shop 902 or spicy rentals.
Also in Happo there is the new Head shop across from the
Mexican restaurant just down from the Happo gondola.
The boarding co near the train station.

Ouch sounds painful!
Hope that it isnt as serious as it sounds.
Already 2 friends out with injuries due to
collisions. Vacations ruined are not fun!

It has been rather good in Hakuba for sure. You can judge the depth I was getting face shots in the trees.

Should be a good weekend everywhere. How is Nigata doing? It is snowing in Akashina now for the first time this year. Last day of school so happy to be done and on holidays.
GoNative I think tomorrow will be pretty bottomless, have fun.

But Pete you don't have the nihon kai to supply water to the storm.
-
A bit on the scary side of huge really.
-
Check the radar and the news this storm is stacking up to be huge. On Saturday Japan will be powder central!
-
It is not hard to rent large sizes in Hakuba at all anymore.

Trip advisor has a huge class action suit brewing against it.
kwikchex is about to take them on actually.
Phoenix wing is a good product but you will pay for it. It is owned by a very nice young Chinese lad nothing bad to say about him at all.

A slow triple chair moves more people up the mountain than a fast quad chair. Slow chairs have there place. Life isnt all about fast food.

Tateyama was good till it closed. Above Happo is quit good right now as well.

The best ones are the Smith Prodigy goggles. You will never have a bad google day again. High speed setting to really get the air flow
going then set the goggles on low to keep them dry.
Search this and you will find lots of information.

This slide was a classic mistake.
All members were exposed.
Hiking above a convex roll.
Rising temps after another big storm.
I hope the guy in the hospital pulls through.

Do you want me to email them then?
The Happo gondola is open for winter hiking and those with rock boards.
-
Talk about Niseko opening maybe tomorrow on the now page.
Too bad Tateyama closed because it was unreal skiing for the
past month.
Hope the next warm front doesnt bring much rain.

Snow change your tires now. The pass between Matsumoto and Takayama is snow tires or chains now. If you dont have either there is a good chance that you will have to turn around. Great to see Autobucs fill up yesterday with panicking tire changing people!

The guy with the broken arm forgot to tick the box for snow sports that is it. Call or get an email from your insurance provider that states that you are covered for snow sports, if you are ever worried.
Hope the legs come back good as new or better!
