  1. Just got back from the Clairvoyant and they said that Niseko United Ski/Snowboard area would be all time this year and everyone should head there.

Nearby resorts will not get the same bottomless powder and will be very disappointing.

See you in the best powder in the world as judged by industry proffesionals.

Do not believe ski/snowboard guides who will charge you money to take you to an inferior resort (except for MikePow who actually teaches you some great techniques).

    Niseko is the best.

  2. Visa card withdrawals fee at 7 & I holding is close to AUD $10.00 per Y50,000 and you get the rate that markets are quoting on that day. So if the official rate is 0.97 that is what you get. With bank fee it works that you get 0.95. By February 2015 the AUD will be close to 0.88 to the yen.

Hi Biggen so is it $10 every transaction?

I just odered an ozforex card so will be interesting to see how that goes

  3. The joke of the week

Ol' Fred was in the hospital, badly ill. The family called his personal physician and best friend to stand with them.

As his best friend stood next to the bed, Ol' Fred's condition appeared to deteriorate and he motioned frantically for

    something to write on.

    Â

His friend lovingly handed him a pen and a piece of paper, and Ol' Fred used his last bit of energy to scribble a note,

then immediately after, died. Â The friend, in his grief, put the note in his wallet and forgot about it.Â

    Â

2 days later, at the funeral, as he was finishing a speech about the life of his best friend Fred, he realised that he still

    had the note.

    Â

He said, "You know, Ol' Fred handed me a note just before he died. I haven't looked at it, but knowing Fred, I'm sure there's a word of inspiration there for us all."

    Â

He opened the note and read,

"You're standing on my oxygen tube!"

  4. I Never knew this.

    In the Kingdom of Thailand

In the original native culture of Thailand, when males reached the age of 18, they had to participate in the following community ceremony:

They lay themselves stark naked in a large circle, feet facing inward. A beautiful young naked girl kneels over the ankles of each of the men. She places a blob of honey and various crushed sweet fruits around his navel to attract flies and insects. (This keeps them off his face during the ceremony.)

A specially chosen nubile and very beautiful naked girl then does a sexy and sensuous dance in the center of the circle.

As soon as all the men become fully aroused, the kneeling girls then reach over the knees, pull the erect penises downwards as much as they can and then, on a given signal from the central dancer, release them.

The men's penises would then spring back up and go "WHAP!" against their bellies.

This exercise was a measurement of the strength of their masculinity .... the man who killed the most flies was elected to the court of the King.

And that, folks, is why the current capital of Thailand came to be named Bangkok!

  5. I saw The Secret Life of Walter Mitty on the plane over the pond. I was very pleasantly surprised! Not a challenging film by any means, but a great flick to relax to after a ferw beers on a Sunday evening kind of film.

    Also saw:

The Fisher King: very mental- worth a watch, even if just once. Actually didn't think Robin Williams was that great in it. Jeff Bridges however was awesomely despicable.

The Lego Movie: Actually, meh. nice message, but the in-jokes didn't hold up for me.

    Watchmen: favourite.

Snowpiercer: DON'T WATCH THIS ON A PLANE. IT WILL RUIN THE MOVIE. It just didn't make sense because of all the editing. I only watched it because the warning before the move suggested it wasn't going to be heavily edited. Seriously, think sunday-afternoon-edition-Robocop edited.

Watched Snowpiercer a few weeks ago not bad 3 snowballs

Saw The Giver last night again nothing flash 3 snowballs

Enjoyed the Butler though 4 Snowballs

    Watching Inbetweeners tonight

  6. Lucky riding a bike drunk isn't fun as much as you dont want to fall over the bike just keeps falling over.

I used to ride home through a caravan park in Berwick and would always crash into the vans even though I was aware my balance was just bad

  7. Flights locked in for Dec/Jan woohoo!!

I'll report on how effective the heating is ;)

when you coming over MB are you going to make the day trip?

Arrive 27th Dec. Leave 12th Jan.

(Once again cramming the family getaway in between Christmas with the family, during the National League training recess and before the baby cub has to get into compulsory summer holiday school water polo training!)

Definitely doing a day at Rusutsu again, might have a gander at Kiroro also.

Be good to have a slide together :)

Yeah I will be there just let me know when you are coming over

  8. Yeah just get the Grand Hirafu passes and see how you go our family never used the all mountain pass.

Pay now and cop the fees and get points on your credit card. I predict the dollar will drop approx 5% anyway so you will be in front. This is only a prediction though so please don't take my line if our passes cross and I am wrong.

I have just been told I don't have to pay for my accom or passes till Jan but will most probably cash in now that way may save a few beers on the exchange rate

  9. Try to skate a bit on the longboard squats lunges trampolining is great is you have one

I've got a longboard too but with "surfy trucks" so you can kind of carve on it. Doesn't really feel like snowboarding at all because you can't slide laterally but its perfect for the concrete wasteland that I live in.

Yeah got a freeboard but way too dangerous for me at least with the longboard you get the muscle memory in your feet and legs that imitate snowboarding slightly
