  1. Looks like it should be all good, got a response from them, with a confirmation. I'll let them know when I get there about their payment gateway. I just got back in from LA and off to Hakuba on wednesday and the forecast is looking better Glad I went to Colorado, everyone there was saying they had the best snow they seen in 10 years well worth it!
  2. Well I paid so fingers crossed it's all good and fingers crossed there's some powder set to fall. None on the forecast as yet... Colorado was heaps good though!!

I wanted to film some tree runs but it was dumping so hard you wouldn't see much.. Vail was heaps good too! Had everything reserved for Hakuba but ran into some problems. I can't get a verified certificate to make payment for Hakuba
  4. Booked in for Hakuba, 17th Feb, off to Colorado tomorrow! hope the snow gods are favourable...
  5. thats no fun, there is no one in Christchurch, except a few sheep and maybe a handful of farmers.. lol, My brother loves nudie runs he reckons they are addictive? haha one day I'll see him on the news.

  7. Yeah I know its gonna be harder to avoid the crowds but thats why I said loveland, its supposed to be under rated and passed by the majority for the bigger resorts like vail and breckenridge. I'll see what the vibe is when I get there and I'll work it out from there even if that means driving a couple hours to go to steamboat. I have a car there so no biggy and the closer resorts should b a lil less crowded during the week.
  8. staying frisco, duno where I'll end up resort wise. maybe loveland on the weekend? want to avoid as much crowd as possible.
  9. Yeah I took them and yeah the camera has some degree of stabilization built in, video editing can smooth the rest and for the scene with the truck etc, tripod. Oh, and no scenery stills, just tripod recording.
  10. Thanks mate, yeah not as much boarding in it as there is scenery but thats what you see heli in NZ, it's pretty darn good spot they got over there. That means alot coming from an aussie.
  11. Yes I prefer last minute, chase the storm and get there when the goodies arrive 'fresh pow' rather than rock up and hope.. With the exception of the headache I had this time round.. I'm trying to get to colorado this friday, got everything sorted just need to book in the flight, everything else is booked. Heavy Snow forecast for some resorts in Colorado.
  12. Grungy Gonads - I booked NZ and other non snow holidays last minute no probs. Ok little harder to book a rental car last minute peak season NZ but not this hard and If I had of waited around (pointless coz I'm not going there now, at least not for another 2 weeks) I would have had 100 odd responses but what good would they have done me, to little too late. Yes, I've heard of Skype but again, running out to shops that are closed, to buy a 'VOIP' to make calls to Japan to find availability for a last minute "oh s##t look at the forecast I'm going" trip doesn't really work... panhead pe
  13. Yes you did link 100% of the listed in english. Yes you can contact the places on those pages in english. I guess they would reply fairly quickly in english. Does seem fairly simple... Heres where it's not, this is a very last minute trip I wanted to get there and catch the last snow dump. I wanted an instant answer so I could book flights. That is only available by (a) calling all hotels which is 'expensive' and ( checking availability through their sites, 'easy' and instant, so it would seem. Of course I went to their websites, I needed to check availability. Your s
  14. There were about two of them which had part english, you click on the english button for the site to navigate in english then click on availability and it was in Japanese. Some sites were quite poor and other were better. Some sites didn't even have availability only reservation requests. I check the hotel Availability for those through 3rd party sites and regardless there was no availability straight through in one place for this weekend. As mentioned either one or all dates booked for the coming weekend, I would have to jump from one hotel to a backpackers, then back to a hotel. Too much has
  15. Ok, could not find accommodation in Hakuba this weekend, all except for one or two I could not read 'Japanese' on the list on this website and with the exception of 'backpackers' which I didn't bother with were all booked for either one of, or all three days of the coming fri-sat-sun. Am looking at going in 2 weeks or so from now when there is availability. Right now though, looking at catching the action in Colorado this weekend for 7 days. flight from Syd return $1430 4/2/11 - 12/2/11 accommodation approx $500 (Alpine Inn Frisco) car hire + GPS + insurance $ 600 lift ticket
  16. Well I know it would be bias in a US forum too but I'm not asking people which is better, they're both great. This is a more specific question to the few people that would have experienced both. Even more specific to the current weather and terrain and experiences on offer. I don't want people to choose for me, I normally make these types of decisions with out having to seek some random opinions off a forum but Im stuck with this one n would just appreciate the little insight I get through this avenue. Appreciate all response so far!
  17. I added a poll to make this work better I hope. will make my decision today, it's going to dump snow in both places in the next few days.
  18. Ones funny, the others just a straight run down Mt Hutt with new MC1 POV cam. Bit too shakey when you start to go faster.
  19. No probs with that, thought I had to join a third party site to share pics.. I must have used this before because I had some pics there already, forgot bout it.
20. sorry bout that, I don't have any other file sharing options unless I sign up for a new account with flicker or something like that, which I particularly don't wish to. Would be cool if you can just attach images directly.. I'm sure if anyones interested that they could see the 9 day forecasts for both and see my dilemma.
  21. I duno if this works but I tried to post some screen shots of 9 day forecasts for Niseko and Aspen.
