  1. I am spending a day and a half in Tokyo (2 nights) my intention is to go about radio center in Akihabara to buy a lot of electronic components and explore the place (many people in Australia still thinks that taking their picture steals their soul so these parts are hard to get and expensive to import) I will buy stuff, post it back then head North to Niseko for 7 nights smile

  2. Morning Mortals... I just woke up a little early. It's just past 11:00 and I have a night shift at 19:00 tonight but the bright side is in theory I should have next week off. and I hope to have my deposit down for the accommodation for my Feb trip by Thursday smile

It's a CNC machine I built. you can mill out basic parts, panels or circuit boards (which I want to do) it's computer controlled.

And good about your mum charlotte.

    Thanks mate..

Dad was. I knew something was up but he never wantted to talk about it (and I respected that) he made his mind up a long time ago if they ever found something then he did not want anything done. (he health was failing and another major treatment would cause to much grief for so little gain)

But mum was not (ok she had major health problems but when it happened it happened quickly (the #!@# hit the fan within 20 mins) ..
there was no point flying down till after I moved (a week later). My whole point to saying this if you are out of town and a loved one is unwell. By all means try and get back but if you can't you have to accept it and go on with what you are there for (for me it was moving house then after I switched off then I freaked)

Apparently she is doing really well.

I am looking forward to going back in a few weeks to see her myself.

  5. <Rant>

Good to hear that the news is positive I had my mother (in Melbourne) pass while I was moving house in Sydney (that was quick) then my father pass 2 weeks later (in England but this was to be expected)

The only way I could deal with my parents being sick (and then passing) was to stay 'switched on' with the house move (I was told to move which buggered up my japan snow trip) but once it was over and I had idle hands that's when I freaked out (work was great they offered support and gave me a couple of weeks off)

I still get upset once in a while but my advice is to go though the process (dont let it build up) in the early days I found that I was getting upset at the most simple of arguments and flipping out. that will fade over time

I hope for the best. and the times I had to visit the hospital I always went for dark humor jokes (like I flew down to Melbourne to see mum in the ICU and the first words where 'I come to see the cat')
