  1. Hummm first of all LESSONS LESSONS LESSONS. I taken private lessons and it is an investment worth taking.

I cannot say for you but my personal experience is work on where you place your center of gravity. if it is leaning to the toe side (which is easy) then the board will want to tilt to that side and naturaly turn. same with the heal side. but it is unnatural for the body so it will take time to get a handle on. use your hips and lower body. for example if you want to go heal side you would want to try and show your 'Tall Timber' to the world. the board will want to turn and it will do the rest. This can be viewed in a different way so as I said at the start invest in a private lesson :)

  2. I know I am going to get shot for this but I like to know if anyone here have ever ski/snowboarded in Korea. I like to think about a Japan/Korea/HK trip.

    snow/geek trip

fly to japan. board then head south then take the boat over the ditch board some more then on the way home spend a couple of days in HK and even spend a day buying stuff in Shenzhen (electronic parts at the SEG supermarket)

any one have any links or ideas ?

  3. Well on my first trip I went in mid to late Dec. I was a day short from the first major dump of the season and despite the fact there was little snow (as far as the locals said) there was enough to keep a first timer happy) on the 2nd trip (and future trips due to work commitments in Jan) I go during FEB. it's like Dear Penthouse for boarders

I would like to think about a small local trip (around Tokyo area) in late Dec but I don't know how things will be then

  4. They do but I think there is a very tiny resort down there (like a single lift or something along thouse lines)

On the news one year for the Sydney to Hobart. They where doing the weather brief in sydney where it was 40c (in summer) and they where saying there was snow on the peaks in tas

  5. I will visit in Feb..

Japan dose not need a handout. They want people to spend at their shops, drink at their bars and ski or board at their resorts.

I am still planning my trip bit thats a long way off at this stage.

I have to admit after thinking about it. I would invest in some grey matter into what I would need to do in-case there is another problem over there.

That and pack the abseil kit... The hotel I was staying in at Tokyo did not have a staircase.. smile
