The latest Furano Now report can be found here . Yesterday the rain did eventuate and hung around for a few hours, but didn't detract many from enjoying themselves on the mountain. Today the temperatures have dipped back to more wintery levels. After yesterdays rain the slopes will be a bit firm and frosty, although the sun is out and may help soften things a bit. The winds were fairly strong earlier in the morning but have reduced and now are only light around the village. There is a thin dusting of snow at village level. Tomorrow should be similar but there may be cloud cover so we may not get to see the sun. Expect some more light snow between now and then. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . Good morning on a glorious Monday. Conditions are just looking perfect this morning. The area is surrounded in deep blue sky with not a hint of wind in the village. It will be a great day to take some photos with the blue sky providing a vivid contrast to the whiteness of the snow. There has been a couple of centimetres of new snow overnight and there is a little more expected later this afternoon. Tomorrow is also looking good but will be more of a cloud/clear mix with a slight breeze and 6cm of snow forecast tomorrow evening. Looking further ahead in the week we are going to jump into a period of warm weather from Thursday onwards, and significantly there is moderate rain from Friday evening through Saturday afternoon. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . Good morning to another fine spring like day in Furano. Blue skies surround us with the odd cloud hanging around. Cloud may increase later in the day. The sun is out and the resort has been topped up with another light layer of new snow. This time 2cm. There is a very light breeze but nothing significant and it should stay around the same level for the day. Tomorrow will be warmer and we can expect temperatures well into the positives on Friday. That warm weather on Friday is also going to bring a period of heavy rain in the evening. We are definitely entering spring. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . It is a perfect Sunday with clear views over the town through to Mt Tokachi in the distance. The slopes are nicely groomed with a little powder on top and a frosty base under that. The base should soften late morning as the sun is out in full force. Ungroomed areas have some lovely light dry powder on them which is pretty amazing considering it is nearly mid March. Tomorrow's forecast is pretty much the same as today's with perhaps slightly warmer temperatures. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . A pleasant day abounds in Furano with some nice blue sky and sunshine. Temperatures are pretty cold this morning and there is a light breeze which should keep you from overheating on the slopes. There has been 2cm of fresh snow overnight. Kitanomine Zone is now closed for the season and night skiing has also finished. From today onwards it is just the Furano Zone operating. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . Overnight saw 2cm of fresh snow fall in the village. The sun come out early morning and the fresh snow disappeared from around the village. The cold start soon gave way and the temperatures rose above freezing and are currently sitting around +5c. It looks like we will keep the good weather for the remainder of the week with calm wind conditions and sunshine. Roll on spring! The latest Furano Now report can be found here . It is snowing at the moment and there has been another 5cm accumulation since the last report. The new snow on the mountain will be wind affected so expect areas of significant accumulation in places. Due to moderate winds it is going to feel pretty cold out there... a face mask may be the order of the day. Good news for beginners - the Prince Romance lift will start operation from today and this lift will also run through until 8pm for night skiing. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . Yesterday the upper mountain received a substantial top up of new snow with light snow falling for most of the day. The conditions on the upper mountain down to the base of Downhill 2 chair are very good. Below the chair, down to base, there are areas of thin coverage. It has been snowing since the early hours of this morning and temperatures are once again below freezing. The snow is forecast to continue through until Sunday and hopefully there will be a big dump in there sometime. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . The snow front arrived late afternoon and continued through the night. There is 40cm of new snow in the village and graders are hard at work clearing roads. The mountain itself has received excellent snow coverage, and with a slightly heavier powder than usual it is ideal for bulking up the base. The groomers have been flat out compressing the new snow and there will be some fantastic groomer runs for the early birds this morning. The forecast snow has not eventuated so far but there could be some on the way this afternoon...fingers crossed. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . Good news from Furano. Sailer Course is now completely open from top of the ropeway, down to the base. The lower course still has a few thin patches but overall the condition is not bad for this time of year and being able to carve turns for a continuous 3.4km is a great feeling. There was a total of 8cm fresh snow over the weekend. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . Furano was hit by a serious snow storm last night that dumped another 40cm at village level. This has changed things dramatically and we expect more of the mountain to open up over the rest of the week. The most significant change for today is that Downhill Romance 3 chair is now operating which opens up access to more challenging terrain. The snow that has fallen is very heavy compared to the normal Furano light powder and is perfect for bulking up the base.
