Independent snow and weather reporting from the Furano region of Hokkaido New snowfall at base 10cm Snowfall at base this season 421cm Posted on Sunday 16th February 2014 This is an archived report. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . Well those winds tricked us yesterday and didn't lift as expected leaving us with the Gondola closed. This week we will see some more wind but right now the flags are still, the temperature is perfect and over night we got another easy 10cm of new snow. The snow should continue to lightly fall all morning changing to a cloudy afternoon. We should be blessed with more snow over the next couple of days and hopefully the wind won't spoil things. However there is a chance that it could pick up as early as this afternoon but the likelihood is tomorrow will be the day most affected. Independent snow and weather reporting from the Furano region of Hokkaido New snowfall at base 7cm Snowfall at base this season 428cm Posted on Monday 17th February 2014 This is an archived report. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . The winds are back and at the moment are blowing around the mountain with moderate force. This means that Kitanomine Gondola operation will be suspended until the winds reduce. Clouds are rolling over the tops and down the upper third of the mountain causing visibility to be a little limited at the top but it gets better as you head down the mountain. There has been 7cm of snow in the village but expect a compacting wind affect on that snow on the mountain. Overall it should be a good day but just remember to put on a extra layer to combat that wind as it does feel cold.
