The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Morning from Madarao. Another good haul of fresh snow since yesterday afternoon with, I would say generally, 20-30cm of fresh. (Madarao itself is reporting 20cm). It has been a good last week and breathed some real excitement into the conditions. That excitement has of course been dampened with various news of accidents and incidents in the snow in quite a few regions of Japan, including nearby in Nozawa and Myoko. At times it might seem hard to temper the excitement, but we always need to keep in mind the dangers in the mountains. While the ski area is reporting 20cm this morning, there's more than that on the ground - and it has been piling up rather quickly too. Just how we like it! There should be more cm through today and indeed over the next few days as well, and it looks likely that it'll be keeping good and cold. :) More tree run courses on the mountain are open as well, on the Tangram side too. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Good morning. Another fairly modest layer of snow, but things are feeling pretty good right now. According to the official site, all the tree runs apart from Riverline and Crystal Bowl should be open at Madarao now. The Number 13 lift is open now too. Yes!!! The Momo Downhill tree run course at Tangram is also now open. More snow is forecast for tonight and tomorrow which will push us further back into normality. It should be a good weekend. Over on the Tangram side of the mountain there is a bit of blue sky to see. So a bit mixed this morning... and definitely still cold. Tree run courses at Madarao are gradually opening now - the areas now open are Sawa, Rabbit with Kamoshika and Bear now added to the list. Over the coming days more snow is due. Almost what we expect as 'normal', perhaps! That sounds great. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Sorry for late report. It has been one of those mornings! The great news is that there is a lot of snow around. Tons of it. Madarao are reporting 70cm. And I am seeing similar, though there is definitely varying amounts piled up in places due to the wind. Basically, a lot. What we love to see. :) But with the weather being what it is this morning, operations appear to be limited with the ski area saying that they will be opening as weather allows. Not sure exactly what is open just now. There's more snow on the forecasts, regularly through next week and heavy around the weekend. I'm excited at the thought of the tree run courses opening once this storm eases off (hopefully).
