There have been some moments of sunshine occasionally breaking through the snow clouds, with visibility is generally between good and fair. But the snowfall generally continues this morning, and temperatures remain low, ensuring some excellent snow quality. Some clearer weather is coming around Monday, according to forecasts. The latest Naeba Now report can be found here . Morning from Naeba. 45cm since yesterday! Snow is forecast until this evening, so it looks like it will continue to accumulate. It's a little windy and cold this morning, but visibility is good in the area in front of the hotel. The gondola opened a little while ago today. The Dragondola is still suspended due to bad weather. Over the last three days, we have had over 100cm of snowfall.... there will be plenty of powder at the summit area! Some sunshine for Christmas morning, perhaps. Grumble time. At the time of writing, the official website says that 4 lifts are operating. But the 'real time' map, also on the official website, shows 6 lifts operating. I think the real time one is correct. The latest Naeba Now report can be found here . Hello from Naeba. It has been snowing, and there is at least a few cm across the base area of the ski resort now. It has been on and off and actually coming down nicely now, especially higher up, as I write this. Think wet rather than light and fluffy. We probably shouldn't expect much more by tomorrow (and after today in the coming week). ---------- The lifts at Naeba ski area are due to start moving on Saturday 14th December. Before that, Kagura Ski Area (via Mitsumata Ropeway) was hoping to open today, but that has been officially delayed. This report will concentrate on Naeba, so keep your eye on the Yuzawa Now report for more regular updates that will include Kagura info. The latest Naeba Now report can be found here . Good news from Naeba... there's snow on the ground and it has been much colder after a warm weekend. So the mountain is covered in white this morning and it has come down to base. Very light snow is still falling but there have been spells of brighter skies. (Even a bit of sun at times). The next snowfall is forecast for around Saturday. ---------- The ski lifts at Naeba are due to start moving on Saturday 14th December. Before that, Kagura Ski Area (via Mitsumata Ropeway) hopes to be able to open on Saturday 23rd November. The latest Naeba Now report can be found here . Good afternoon from Naeba on a fine and sunny autumn afternoon. Today is actually the last day of the 'autumn' operations here (including the Dragondola/Tashiro Ropeway). From tomorrow, all thoughts will be turning towards the upcoming winter season. The ski lifts at Naeba are due to start moving on Saturday 14th December. Before that, Kagura Ski Area (via Mitsumata Ropeway) hopes to be able to open on Saturday 23rd November, which is now less than three weeks away! It's all going to come quick now... Long range forecasts seem quite positive for a good/snowy winter, so let's hope that turns out to be correct. More reports will be posted in the run up to the season. Let's 2024-2025 season! The latest Naeba Now report can be found here . Good morning from Naeba. It's way colder this morning with snow falling from the skies. Just 1cm on the ground so far, perhaps a bit more higher, and it's not really expected to last long. Windy too this morning, enough to affect lift operations with the top area of closed at the start of the day. The Tashiro section of Kagura ski area isn't opening as normal either this morning and the Dragondola and Hiuchi lifts are not operating. (Mitsumata Ropeway is open). It's keeping cold early morning though over the next few days temps are set to rise and it will be getting unseasonably warm tomorrow through Thursday. Sunny skies due tomorrow. Last day of the three-day weekend so it is busier than a normal Monday. Just the Number 45 lift is set to be open for night skiing tonight. Visibility is limited but the fresh should be very nice. There is a good chance of seeing the sun tomorrow and a very good chance on Tuesday (when it will start warming up beyond what we would like!) It's a busy Naeba, quite possibly one of the busiest days of the season.
