Several ski areas are heading into the 2026-2027 winter season with new official names.
Ski Jam Katsuyama (Fukui Prefecture) becomes JAM Katsuyama Mountain Resort.
Rewild Ninja Snow Highland (Nagano Prefecture) becomes Minenohara Kogen.
The second change is particularly interesting. The ski area dates back to 1973 and, until 2020, was known as Minenohara Kogen, so it is now reverting to its long-established name.
Both ski areas can now be found on SnowJapan under their new official names, with their previous names mentioned in the introductions.
