Miyagi Zao Shichikashuku is located on the western slopes of Togetadake in Shichikashuku town in the south-western region of Miyagi Prefecture. Mt Zao is to the north east of this ski hill. Route 113 connects this region of Miyagi Prefecture with Yamagata Prefecture.
A few upper course areas of this ski area are left ungroomed and snow shoe tours are available.
Miyagi Prefecture is in the Tohoku region on the north eastern region of the main island of Honshu with a long Pacific coast and bordered with Iwate to the north, Yamagata to the west and Fukushima to the south. The ski hills in Miyagi Prefecture can be found in the mountainous regions stretching from the north to south of the western region of the prefecture.

There are however town operated buses from Shiroishi Zao to Seki (60 minutes) and then from Zao to the ski area (15 minutes).

Miyagi Zao Shichikashuku is located a short distance off Route 113 in Shichikashuku town.
The Kunimi IC on the Tohoku Expressway is 32km to the south-east of the ski area.
Over to the west, the Nanyo Takahata IC on the Yonezawa Nanyo Road is about 24km away.
