The good news: it's snowing and it should be snowing through the day and tomorrow too.

It's a quiet Monday morning here in Zao. Just a dusting of snow since yesterday and cloudy skies at the moment.

The snow clouds are with us and light snow is falling. Decent visibility around base but more limited in the areas that are open.

How about this then!? It appears that the ski area is open this morning. Or should I say, 'pre-open' (the word being used).

More snow, and the most yet so far this season. Shovels at the ready, as it is still falling with snowfall due for the day.

Some more snow to report this morning. Another modest amount and there should be more to report again tomorrow.

And a little more, with snow falling as this report is being written.

Just a little snow down to the village, hopefully that might translate into more up top.

How about this then... special report to note a layer of fresh snow at base!

There's a thick bank of cloud across a lot of the mountain this morning.

Some slight snowfall earlier this morning so trees have a nice frosting, but the main roads are generally dry by now.

Another cloudy/foggy morning with the chance of some more snow during the day.
