It's a bit of a damp and wet morning here in Yuzawa. Very light rain has been falling since earlier on - nothing major - and it doesn't seem to be able to decide to continue or not. Resorts around town almost all seem to be reporting 'cloud'.... hmmmm!

Yesterday I said that today should be warmer. And warmer it most certainly is. Outside the thermometer now says 10 degrees, and the forecast says a high of about 16 degrees at town level. We're all set to see it cool off a bit again though from tomorrow, but there doesn't look like much chance of much (any?) snow in the coming week with more of a chance of rain at times than snow.

The snow did ease off fairly quickly yesterday leaving us with a cloudy afternoon and clear evening - here in Minamiuonuma to the north of Yuzawa anyway.

We had rain later in the day yesterday but overnight it turned into snow and there was a thin coating of snow in Yuzawa this morning. Resorts around town have reporting mostly around 5cm but up to 10cm of fresh snowfall since yesterday. It has actually continued snowing at town level on and off for the morning though it's not really adding more in terms of cm. Fairly poor visibility at resorts around town at the moment.

In the report yesterday we mentioned rain/sleet/wet snow. Well, none of those apparently happened as we are all dry this morning.

There are some nice blue skies over Yuzawa and the Minamiuonuma valley this morning. Wispy white clouds as well - and more appearing as the morning has moved on - but the sun is out and it's a nice warm, spring morning.

Early on this morning it has been raining here at town level, with sleet and light snow falling at higher elevations. It's still a bit wet but hopefully things are going to quickly clear up this morning.

Yesterday the snow was falling during the morning but eased off and by early afternoon it has started to clear up - ended up a fine sunny afternoon. Cold last night down to -5C and it is a cold start to the day today as well, though it is warming up fast with a high of around 10 degrees likely today. Only a slight wind and clear skies. The sun is out and it's a great day to be outside.

Yesterday evening was nice and clear until later on when it started to rain heavily. But the brilliant news this morning is that it is snowing and there's over 5cm of fresh snow in Yuzawa and up to 10cm on the slopes. It's still snowing - and actually coming down quite nicely at the moment - so while it's forecast to not last long, we can just hope for as much as possible before then!

10 degrees this morning at 10am on another warm and very spring like morning in Yuzawa. It's a generally fine morning with overcast-looking blue skies over Yuzawa, more cloudy to the north in Minamiuonuma.

It did rain yesterday and unfortunately it has been raining early this morning as well, though it looks like it will ease off and leave us with a fine day, perhaps sunny. Not much of a wind as well this morning which is a contrast to the gusty conditions we had yesterday. Lots of cloud around and upper areas covered in cloud.

Good morning from a cloudy and rather windy Yuzawa. So much so that some resorts are going to be closed today due to the wind conditions -- all of Kagura is closed and GALA Yuzawa also.

Clouds arrived yesterday in the afternoon after that clear start, and by evening it was raining and there was some strong noisy wind blowing about outside. Quite hard at times. No new snow to report - dustings up top though I hear - and I am glad to say that the drama from the last part of yesterday has cleared up and we start today with more sunny, blue skies

The sun was out all of yesterday making for a very fine spring day outside. It didn't get as cold overnight last night as the previous night, but the day has started much the same with the sun out and shining down on us.
