Independent snow and weather reporting from the Zao region of Yamagata

New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this season 280cm

Posted on Monday 27th January 2014 This is an archived report. The latest Zao Now report can be found here.

The day ended up with some fairly wild conditions yesterday - enough to have the night time "light up" cancelled unfortunately.

Just a few cm outside this morning though I'm sure there will be more on the mountain.... the wind was really blowing it about.

It's calmer this morning, -7 degrees, light wind, lots of cloud but kind of bright at the same time.

Snow showers on and off forecast for the next few days. Strong winds likely tomorrow. Next decent snowfall due around Friday.

Have a good day!
