Posted on Tuesday 17th January 2023 This is an archived report. The latest Zao Now report can be found here.
The day started with blue patches which has now gone.
The summit is in cloud but generally long range Viz is clear.
The slopes remain very hard although there is quite a bit of soft stuff on top at the Chuo bowl. Again, it is softer on lower Uwanodai.
A bit of wind higher up and at top of Uwanodai.
It is cold today and can't say how much the terrain will soften in the daylight.
Do be wary of the ice pebbles and rocks. They are not soft!
A lack of people around except for pockets of ski schools.
