It has been a cloudy day here in Zao with light snow falling at times on the mountain, but also sometimes glimpses of the sun from behind the clouds.

We are still seeing the same lifts open (below) and the resort is still planning to have most courses open from this coming Saturday. A few lifts will be opening later but by the 22nd we should have all lifts operating as planned on the mountain.

A slightly milder few days is upcoming and early Saturday we might even see some spots of rain... hopefully snow if the temperatures can keep low.

The following lifts are operating around the mountain as previous days:

Zao Ropeway

Chuo Ropeway

Sky Cable

Chuo No1

Utopia No1

Paradise AB

Onsen No1

Yokokura No1

All snowfall data presented on this page is the snowfall measured and observed at base/town level by our reporter based in Zao Onsen. The 'new snowfall' number represents the amount of snow measured since the previous report. All opinions are those of the individual reporters. Information regarding ski area operations is manually checked every morning and is believed to be correct at the time of the report.
