Independent snow and weather reporting from the Zao region of Yamagata

New snowfall at base 17cm
Snowfall at base this season 426cm

Posted on Sunday 12th February 2017 This is an archived report. The latest Zao Now report can be found here.

Fresh snow this morning just over 15cm and counting... and some poor visibility once again out there, looks like thick fog at the moment.

We are expecting calmer and clearer conditions later in the day and tomorrow too. Perhaps even some sunshine. Not a whole lot of snow on the forecast for the week, perhaps just a bit at times but it should be keeping suitable cold.
