Independent snow and weather reporting from the Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma region of Niigata
New snowfall at base 18cm
Snowfall at base this seas 821cm
Posted on Sunday 9th February 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.
Another 18cm of snowfall since yesterday.
(Maiko Snow Resort appears to be reporting up to 30cm on the mountain).
As I write this, there is actually a lull in the snowfall (and even a bit of blue sky just to the north), but snow is generally forecast to continue today.
Same as yesterday, Kagura ski area is going to be completely closed for the day and the Southern Area of GALA Yuzawa will not be available. The Maiko gondola is also on hold at the start of the day. Other lifts may well be affected. Check before heading out.
This snow is due to continue (at least on/off) into Tuesday, with warmer conditions and perhaps some clearer skies on Wednesday.
