Independent snow and weather reporting from the Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 10cm
Snowfall at base this season 488cm

Posted on Friday 7th February 2014 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.

About another 10-15cm of snow being reported by resorts around town this morning since yesterday, as of 9am this morning it is snowing slightly in Yuzawa while I brushed that new layer of snow off the bonnet of the car. We are told to expect the snow to stop and leave us with a mostly just cloudy day. It is -5C at 9am so it's keeping cold.

We're expecting it to not be quite as cold tomorrow - but snow is forecast for the day and perhaps Sunday too.

With the refreshes of the last few days, conditions have taken a bit swing for the better since last weekend. A good snowfall overnight would be a great start to the weekend.
