It was warm yesterday and more than a few people mentioned some itchy eyes... yellow sand or some early hayfever? We got rained on later in the day, but happily it did turn into snow overnight.
This morning Kagura and Ishiuchi Maruyama are reporting 10cm of fresh snowfall, while Maiko reports 5-10cm.
Strong winds are forecast for today along with more snow and unfortunately that means that some ski areas are closed or part closed:
GALA Yuzawa is not going to be open at all today.
The Tashiro Area of Kagura is closed and the central Kagura operations are limited. Mitsumata Ropeway is open.
The Yuzawa Kogen Ropeway and top area is closed.
The Gondola at Maiko Snow Resort is also closed and the lifts going to the top area might not open.
Things should calm down by tomorrow. The good thing out of this is we might get a decent amount of fresh snow by tomorrow morning. Let's see...
From Tuesday onwards there's quite a lot of clearer weather and warmth shown on the forecasts.
