Independent snow and weather reporting from the Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma region of Niigata
New snowfall at base 0cm
Snowfall at base this season 1219cm
Posted on Friday 6th March 2015 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.
I was hoping for something decent to report this morning and I suppose I do, but it's bright blue skies rather than the snowfall we were hoping for.
Yes, yesterday we did see snow falling but it really didn't amount to much of anything in terms of new cm and none of the resorts are reporting any fresh. For the moment, early spring continues to be winning out the battle of the seasons. Come on winter, we know you have more left.
(Tuesday onwards next week looks quite promising).
For now though it's looking like it will be a fine day here with temperatures rising to around +5 in town and sunny conditions likely.
It's time for the Yuzawa Snow Festival tomorrow. If you are in Yuzawa and want to check it out, just head for the main onsen road side (station West Exit) and follow the people.
Cloudy weather is expected for the day and evening tomorrow.
