Good morning from Yuzawa.
Snow eased off for much of yesterday in the day time and we had some sun at times, too.
It is snowing on and off this morning and there's just over 6cm of fresh to report since yesterday. Perhaps not as much as we thought we might get, but we do expect snowfall during the day today.
There was some speculation that Joetsu Kokusai might actually be able to make it's (often unrealistically sounding) early opening date of Saturday 6th December. But, alas, they have said that they won't be able to open tomorrow.
Kandatsu Snow Resort has announced that it will be doing a 'pre-open' from 12th December - a week earlier than planned.
We are expecting clearer skies over the weekend and some mild temperatures. It will be interesting to see if the layer of snow around town will survive before we get more snow, which currently seems due around Tuesday next week.
