A very good morning from a very snowy Yuzawa.
It is one of those mornings when it is difficult to put a number on how much snow has fallen. Let's just call it a lot. I'll tell you what the resorts are saying. First up the headline is a whopping 60-80cm of new snowfall at Kagura. Naeba are saying 40-60cm and resorts around town have said between 30cm and 50cm. A lot.
It's a cold -5C start to the day. Winds are affecting some resorts with the Tashiro area of Kagura closed this morning as well as the Dragondola link of course to Naeba. Mitsumata is also limited but other resorts around town seem to be open as normal.
Snow is expected to continue through the day and tomorrow we should have clearer conditions - perhaps the sun. It should be a very fine weekend with excellent conditions pretty much everywhere. Especially if we get the 20cm or so more snowfall today that is forecast locally.
This is the kind of snowfall we expect in Yuzawa, and lets hope there is lot more to come.
Conditions of course will have been transformed since a few days ago with all this new snow.
