Independent snow and weather reporting from the Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma region of Niigata
New snowfall at base 3cm
Snowfall at base this season 642cm
Posted on Monday 3rd March 2014 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.
It was rain on and off for times yesterday, turning into snow in the afternoon but clearing by evening.
Snow on and off this morning and a few cm has fallen overnight, and currently it is around 0 degrees in town.
Resorts are reporting up to 5cm of snow on the slopes.
We are expecting to see the sun tomorrow and it will be a bit warmer, but after that it's looking like we can expect snow clouds to be with us through the rest of the week. How much snow will they bring? I dare not guess, but let's hope we have a nice early March surprise in store. Not wanting to dampen that lot, but rain is likely before it turns into snow on Wednesday, at town level at least. The higher areas might escape the wet bit!
