Good morning from Yuzawa.
Almost 20C in town yesterday.
OK, so after the spell of clearer weather, today we are in for a change. We expect rain and also some strong winds from around lunchtime. It doesn't feel windy early on this morning but it might get very windy out there soon. The forecast was so clear that GALA Yuzawa, Ishiuchi Maruyama and Yuzawa Kogen all announced that they would not be opening today. Kagura will also be closed.
Southerly winds, too... famously the kind that is least friendly to snow.
No info from Kandatsu or Joetsu Kokusai.
So limited choices this morning and I'm not sure how appealing any of them would be. (For me, anyway).
Today is the last day of the season for these ski areas:
- Ipponsugi
- Naspa Ski Garden
- Yuzawa Park
From tomorrow, the following ski areas plan to remain open:
- GALA Yuzawa
- Joetsu Kokusai
- Kandatsu Snow Resort
- Kagura
- Naeba
- Yuzawa Kogen
Garden snow update breaking news: there is still a small patch of snow, but it will 100% be gone sometime today!
