Independent snow and weather reporting from the Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma region of Niigata
New snowfall at base 9cm
Snowfall at base this season 373cm
Posted on Wednesday 24th February 2016 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.
It started raining yesterday evening and was still raining last time I was outside at 10:30am, but the very good news is that this morning we have woken to some fresh snow on the ground. Hurray!
Early on Kagura are reporting 10cm, while Maiko Snow Resort report 5-10cm... and I have just measured 9cm outside my place at town level at 8:30am.
Better still is that it is still snowing now as I write the report.
We can probably expect it to ease off sometime around lunchtime, so we just want as much as possible to fall before then (of course).
Next up after today in terms of snowfall (or more than potential very light snow) looks like it should be Friday and then later in the weekend as well.
Let's see if we can have a good end to the month of February and start to March.
