It was lovely weather yesterday morning, with it almost feeling borderline 'hot' at times rising to a fair bit beyond 20 degrees.


Things got more cloudy during the afternoon and also cooled down a bit.


Early this morning it's bright but it looks very hazy out there as well as there being quite a bit of cloud around. It's forecast to be a fine day though with the sun shining. It shouldn't be warming up as much as yesterday today.


As mentioned yesterday, today is the last day of the season for GALA Yuzawa resort which means that from tomorrow just the Kagura resort will remain open in the region. Both the Mitsumata and Tashiro Ropeways remain operating, more details below.


And in Kagura news, they have announced that from today the Panorama Course and the lower part of the Technical Course are no longer open. They also mention the chance of other changes ahead...

Resorts that remain open in Yuzawa on Sunday 24th April 2016:


GALA Yuzawa

GALA Yuzawa resort have announced that they will remain open until today, Sunday 24th April.

The Melody course - with artificial 'snow mats' - and sledging area remain open.

Note that skiing and snowboarding on natural snow is now no longer possible at GALA.


Kagura

The Tashiro Ropeway and area plans to be open until 8th May.

The Kagura area via Mitsumata Ropeway plans to be open until 29th May.

The Mitsumata area is now used only as a 'connecting course' to get to and from the main Kagura area with just a bit of natural snow remaining, under which is the artificial 'snow brush'.

Most of the main Kagura and Tashiro courses remain open with natural snow but some are now getting rather narrow.

Yesterday was the last day of the season for the Panorama Course and lower part of the Technical Course.

Note that today is the last day of the season for the top Kagura Number 5 pair lift.

Kagura area: 160cm

Tashiro area: 130cm

Mitsumata area: -cm
