Kagura has this morning announced that the original planned opening on Wednesday will not happen. It was inevitable as there is hardly any snow on the main Kagura run.
Not to worry.
It's very early, and being able to open on the planned date (or not) is, of course, not indicative of how the season will turn out.
Below are the planned opening dates for all of the Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma region ski areas. As you see, most plan to open between 16th-24th December.
