Independent snow and weather reporting from the Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma region of Niigata
New snowfall at base 5cm
Snowfall at base this season 363cm
Posted on Tuesday 21st January 2014 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.
Yesterday was a cloudy/overcast day but we are back to snow falling this morning. About 5cm on my car outside and that is the number being reported by skijo around the town including Kagura. It is continuing to snow now and we do have it forecast to continue through tomorrow as well.. hopefully into Thursday as well.
Clearer skies are forecast for Friday along with warmer temperatures as well. Rain possible at the weekend in town anyway as we hit a run of milder weather. Would be good if we could avoid that.
For now though, snow is falling so bring it on. The just released Niigata forecast is for up to 10cm in Yuzawa before 4pm. Fingers crossed we can build up some decent snowfall in the next few days.
